  1.

squad of 15 players from the OAFC fan base paying a fee of 500 pounds to get an official first team game against Man Utd or Chelsea (subject to medical). They get to keep their kit and other mementos for ever. Once in a life time opportunity because the football league will sure as hell change the rules afterwards.

Sure we may loose 35 - 0 but it will actually be a financial win for the club, a big FU to money football and a life long memory for the 'chosen' fans.

    Do it!

Im behind this. Would be a big statement and middle finger to the authorities! Even if its the club happy to stump up the 5k. Be nice to take a principled stand on something that would damn near have full backing of our fans and other clubs fans.

  2. Is it really worth while running a youth system these days after the greedy PL clubs changed the payments. Why not just pick up ex PL youth players who have been let go. Why should clubs like ours bring kids up and when they look promising a PL club comes along and takes them off us for peanuts.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it put to us fans, around when this new system was brought in, whether we should ditch the academy and just bring in players as you suggest or keep what we had?

  3. I was going to get Division but I've heard so many band things regarding glitches and bugs.

Ive sunk a decent amount of time into it and not noticed any myself though I did stop playing for a while and missed all the game breaking ones I heard about. As it currently is it's quite a good game. Not only do i reccomend playing alongside a friend/s its a necessity too as progression is nigh on impossible on your own.

  4. What's the point?

Agreed. It says it's to reduce fixture congestion for the good of the 'English game' but I can't ever say I've thought we play too many games. Top flight theres an issue due to some clubs likely to go further in cup comps and all clubs are affected by the international breaks but that's not something that concerns us lower down. Even in the Championship when they dont play on international breaks I imagine the player pool is much smaller in terms of who is on duty for their country.

  5. If his performance for Scunny at our place is the norm he'd be a good addition and at 30 Killkenny's guile and experience would make him an obvious target.

In both cases it would depend on the financial outlay required.

Providing Shez is the man in charge still I wouldnt be surprised to learn we at least make Kilkenny an offer as Shez rated him highly last time he was here.

  6. Probably needs a bit more clarification so we know what exactly we are now getting (hopefully someone from the trust might know). Is it top end video screen or just a scoreboard?

If its the top end one will someone else be picking up the rest of the original tab (think it was 100k plus if i remember the poster rightly?). Does this mean the fans/trust will still own and recieve their share of profit for fan initiatives? Or is this now reduced in line with how much we contribute towards it?

Same goes for the 'bog standard' screen, if its the one we get, which is 35k. As we arent paying all of it is the ownership/profit now reduced?

  7. In the grand scheme of a day out, if im happy paying 20-22 quid, then 4-6 pound more isnt a lot more but its the principle of it that gets me. Feels like im being fleeced.

It's a tough one as I feel twentys plenty kinda thing but then i cant see there being a massive increase in attendance. Millwall game will be hard to judge as it's always going to have a higher turn out it being the last away game (plus it may be still be a vital game for us still).

  8. I've voted in but I'm not convinced by either campaign. The 'in' argument seems to suggest more of the same (the good and the bad). The 'out' don't seem to know what will happen. I think we would be okay but whether we are better or worse off than now no one seems to know. They've offered about 3 different countries (Canada, Sweden and Switzerland I think) we 'could' be like which suggests to me they have no idea what we do once we leave. My point being I'm all for change but lets have a concrete plan rather than just blindly leaving. Out of the frying pan....

  9. Id like to do it but as ive budgeted to pay for my ST in May, plus other bills to come sooner that need paying, I'll have to leave it. Looked at re-jigging my finances at short notice for the next month but it cant be done.

Good luck to all those who take up the offer. Hope we win 4 and you guys get a nice discount.

I'll just try and console myself with thinking I'm a more hardcore/superfan paying the full price in May ?

  10. Good offer but a shame as I don't think ill be able to stump up the cash so quickly at such short notice.

Edit: Thinking on it though say we win the 4 games (unlikely but not beyond possible) the money is clearly there for a 200 quid price drop otherwise they wouldnt offer. Why not just do a 200 quid price drop anyway for next season? As a bit of a thank you (and sweetner if we are relegated) to the die hards for such a series of :censored: ups this past year on and off the field. Generate a bit of positvity going into the new season along with the stand finally being finished, manager we all like and trust who will get us playing decent footy hopefully and a team we can get behind. All the die hards are happy for a loyalty rewarded and no doubt we would have some new/returning fans taking up the offer. We might just keep a few for the season after. If its a one season offerwhy the :censored: not just do it?

I recognise the good intentions of the club, probably thinking it adds more tension to games. I dont know if they realise we are in a relegation scrap thats providing tension enough, could do without this on top too ha. If we was looking mid table fair enough as it would be interesting then instead of the usual end of season boredom.

  11. It is - different police forces use different standards - GMP for example are usually fairly lenient ie 80 on a motorway and the ignore it generally speaking but Lancashire are very strict and do you within a couple of mph over the limit

I can agree with this. As part of my job I come across this stuff and from speaking with a traffic enforcement officer the general rule of thumb is 10% +2 on any speed limit so 50mph = 57mph. This only applies to the mobile cameras in vans that they operate on site as far as i'm aware. So with the fixed cameras there's no leeway.

Obviously it's always best to stick as close as possible to the speed limit just in case!

  12. Anyone recall the parking situation at the ground from last year?

I've never used the club car park and always opted for the road just outside the ground, that provides access to the travel lodge and the pub next door. However last year i remember it being mentioned that those that parked on that road would be given tickets, not sure if anyone else remembers parking on it and what happened?

From what i recall i think we parked on the travel lodge car park but im not 100% so it would be good to hear other views.

Apologies if this has already been discussed earlier in the thread!

  13. I've just had a nosey at whats available and notice all the high price items have a limited availability. With that in mind I did some quick adding up (not gonna lie i used a calculator). When all the limited edition stuff is gone that will raise £32,250.

So is the scheme expected to make up the other £87,750 through some mixture of the rest thats available? I can't help feel it will be a struggle. Does anyone know if there is more limited edition items planned?

Not trying to be down on it as I think its a good initiative just no items grab me.
