  1. I thought the whole point of the JPT was to give lower league teams a chance to win some silverware at Wembley seeing as we have hardly any chance in the other cups except in the rarest of cases i.e. Bradford. Adding B teams will just devalue it (and in the eyes of some just more devalue it).

They can get :censored:ed on this an the even stupider idea to make a league 3.

  2. If that is the way a football club wants to go it deserves to go out of business. Not aware of what has been said but hope it sinks to the depths it deserves.

Thankfully OAFC aren't that stupid as would kill the club. Only winners are lawyers.

I get what you mean but I wouldn't want them to go out of business due to the ill judged actions of it's controversial owners. Doubt the fans agree with the course the club has taken.

  3. No doubt some will have watched numerous video reviews of the prequels but if I can recommend any (if you have the time as each films review is a good hour an half themselves) then I suggest Redlettermedia.com and the reviewer Mr Plinkett. Quite a humourous and well detailed critique!

For the record as much as I agree with all the points raised as to why they're :censored: I still don't mind watching them.

  4. I still watch them at every opportunity. I don't dislike watching them either though it can be a chore at times. I understand those that are pissed off with the whole setup though.

I never get carried away at tournaments either as I'm just happy to see how far we go. I don't know where the expectation that we expect to do well at them comes from. I don't think I've met a person in the past 8 years who thinks the England team is any good or going to do well. It just seems to be the media that push it and then use it as an excuse when we go out!

  5. Louder yesterday in part due to the :censored:e away following and nearly as :censored:e home following.

I also thought the Athleticos were larger in number yesterday. But hated their sign.

Oh I'm not saying they were noisy (at least not when they sung on their own) just that they were perfectly audible. Naturally if you sit in the RRE next to a better away following they will sound louder as they are nearer or even if there is a group of home fans singing constantly in the RRE you won't hear the Chaddy End. I sit in the main stand upper, on the halfway line, and can hear both stands well enough when people make noise. In fact there was a game recently where there was supposedly a good away following, singing all game, and I wasn't even aware there was one until I got home on here and people said so.

As for the Athleticos leave them to it I say. Others have said it's helping attract the younger fans and I kinda believe them. My 13 year old cousin lives abroad but comes home on a semi-regular basis and he loves them. He was a United fan after his dad but switched allegiances towards back end of last season. Before the Athleticos I know but this group is helping keep his interest and he goes standing with them when at home games. It's pissing his dad off no end so at least we can take one positive out of the group!

  6. Not wishing to divert the thread onto a RRE vs Chaddy acoustics debate but I sat in the RRE today for the first time in ages and I found I could hear the Athleticos loud and clear, even when it looked like them just singing. Nothing ear shattering but I could hear them just fine.

It goes without saying that it will only be louder if more people join in. For me where they are is irrelevant.

  7. This might be a decent appointmet actually (depending how good he turns out).

I'm assuming he's still fond of the club and thinks of himself as Latics as it was only in the last season or two he was on the radio, while still coach at Walsall, for GMR commentating on a game of ours (at Colchester I think). He was constantly using words like 'we' and 'us' when talking about Latics at the match or about the club in general. Seems to still have us at heart!

  8. Third game on the trot they have been scraping with each other according to a Bradford mate of mine

An elderly Bradford fan in the Greyhound i was having a good chat with had mentioned infighting between them.

I was also walking past an incident with a group of Bradford fans on Sheepfoot Lane that were getting a good talking to off the police. And I noticed the guy in the car park afterwards but wasn't sure what he was waffling about.

I suppose every club has it's fair share of idiots.

  9. To be fair (although i do think it was being sung today because some thought we were in Yorkshire) I do think we can sing it at whatever game we are at Yorkshire opponents or not. All it does is register our displeasure with Yorkshiremen in the same way we sing anti-Utd/City songs for example.

It's better sung at Yorkshire opponents but not the end of the world if it isn't.

  10. Aye good win that. As far as I'm aware though i think that result now has them play York for a place in the play off final. Hunslet now play the winner of Hemel Stags and Gateshead with the winner of that tie playing the loser from Oldham and York. The winner of THAT tie then plays the winner of Oldham and York in the Play off final. I think.

  11. MK :censored:faces - just a wrong wrong wrong club.

United/City - Growing up with various family members/friends an school peers as fans and their constant piss taking makes me happy as anything when either get beat.

Rangers - Horrible club with even :censored:tier fans with Manchester centre after their Uefa cup final as a prime example of how classless they are.
