I don't know the answer, but is it down to the download speed. I don't have fibre and the players turned into horizontal stripes. Perhaps that may not happen with a fibre connection. The camera work was very jerky again, most likely that is down to the quality of the camera. At least we had decent sound this time, I suppose after watching football on TV all this time we expect the same from this. I kept expecting a replay after a goal.

I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to add commentary.

However a decent attempt from the club, no doubt practicing for the live league broadcasts.

No need for commentary, much better listening to Shez shouting at Banks and Mantack!

  2. For a change the squad is looking decent already.

Looking at it I'd make x2 keepers, LB (one that is also comfortable playing as a wing back if Shez sticks with 3-5-2?), LW (ideally left footed for balance) and another striker the priorities.

Then if any room left in the budget another LB however I'd be happy going into the season with just one new LB with Stott & Wilson able to cover there.

  3. If all those offered deals sign then I'd say we need a GK, LB, 2 CM's (or one & Baxter?), LW & 2 ST.

For strikers I wouldn't mind seeing Main return & Proctor join aswell. We'd have two target men in Holloway & Proctor (feel this is needed with Holloway having several fitness issues), pace from Osei and general all rounder from Main.

Left wing personally I would like Taylor to return. Whilst not being great since coming back he did put some good crosses in which unfortunately no one attacked and made some good runs but never got the pass (can remember a few times when he would have been through on goal but Tope didn't pass once or twice). I think once he scores a goal we will see a completely different player. Also having a proper left-back behind him would help, some of his slightly better displays came when Hunt was playing. Failing that possibly someone like Martis/Botaka/Mavididi on loan for a direct pacey option. Tope would be able to rotate with them on the left and provide good cover & competition for right wing and striker positions.

Centre mid needs someone who is comfortable in possession, too often this season in midfield we have panicked when in possession. Baxter could fit in with the 3 man midfield system we've used recently. Then another who is comfortable in possession. O'neill looked decent at times however he never really influenced a game (admittedly slightly harsh considering his age and experience so far).

Not too sure on left backs (mostly because McLaughlin has made most of them look poor for the second half of the season!) and keepers.

Wages could be an issue however I'd imagine Baxter will be cheap, at least initially. If the keeper and left back were loans then that would lessen the wage issue a bit.

  4. Who cares about how many games he has started for previous clubs? What matters is how he is performing for us now.

He has generally made a positive contribution since he has joined. Contributed to several goals and has the opposition worried with his pace.

If he isn't on much then definitely worth a one year deal based on his performances so far.

The club have already put a statement out saying that the scoreboard money raised has not gone to the advertising boards. The scoreboard money hasn't been used.

They have also offered to pay back any donations made to the scoreboard fund to those that want it!

In which case I look forward to the club announcing the funds either being used on a new scoreboard or consulting fans on what they want the money they raised to go towards...

Who knows.  But certainly not if the Trust is going to assume the worst and speculate negatively at every opportunity as they (you) do now.

So the club refuses to communicate with the Trust over a project that the trust took over and it's the trusts fault? The plan may have changed recently but Corney wouldn't have been offering refunds for those who donated if the money wasn't going to be touched. Anyone who thinks differently on that is deluded.

If the club had just spoke with the trust and answered their queries then none of this would have come about. It's the clubs own doing.

So far the fan on the board hasn't been able to communicate with the club about certain issues, has been given wrong times for board meetings and being told there isn't time to catch up on the financial aspect of the meeting and has been refused entry to the chairmans lounge or whatever it is on matchdays.

Looks as though a divide is trying to be made by the club (until the club needs the trust for something)...

We're not on live television very often granted but highlights are shown on Sky Sports Score Centre and goals on that crap channel 5 programme so publicity isn't too much of an issue I wouldn't have thought.

The reason I thought it would generate more income is because you can have multiple sponsors on the perimeter boards which would mean you could have more sponsors than the present static ones.

I do stand corrected as I don't really have too much of a clue but I reckon perimeter boards provide more income and more advertising purely because all the premier league have them?

Between them two we get about 5 minutes of air time a week.

Not 100% on this but dont't most premier league clubs only have them on the side you'd see on tv?  The side the camera is on is just the usual advertising hoardings?

  8. Actually quite enjoyed that tonight, could easily have been a couple of goals up after 10 minutes.

Hopefully Hunt coming off was just a precaution as we look alot better with him at left back. One of Green's better games, he definitely plays better as part of a midfield two rather than part of a 3/out wide.

Two cracking passes by Taylor to set up Holloway and Mclaughlin and they both should have buried them.

On 43 points now, hopefully another 9 will do it.

  9. Many firms used to either have no money left or go on a spending spree before the financial year end. I suspect we are the former.

That used to be the end of May, I think , before administration and being reborn as OAFC 2004

Not 100% but I think our financial year end is at the end of the calender year now.

Back onto the ST prices, the club have very carefully worded it by saying £250+vat as anyone kicking off about the price will be told they are priced at £250 and are cheaper than the standard price in previous seasons.

  10. Maybe the club didn't have the finances to invest/do anything to maintain it in the summer so that's why it's like a bloody sand pit now.

But, it's our pitch and we should know how to play on it

Looks like the deeper roots have worked wonders!

It's a disgrace that a professional football clubs pitch is worse than the local playing fields next to it that have several games a week played on them.
