Gerrard, Holloway and Ngoo signed so far.
At least one CM and winger to come in? Ideally a left-back aswell.
-
Seems to me he was told play outside the area, that's where we usually saw him here.
The few (easy) chances he had in the box he manged to mess up.
-
He scored a header from three yards out. Probably speaks more to a lapse in our defence/concentration than his scoring prowess.
He missed from 3 yards for us against Port Vale...

"I approached them to tell them they needed to remain in their technical area. Mr Sheridan then shouted directly into my face, 'You're a f****** c***.
I then called across referee Eddie Ilderton, who dismissed Mr Sheridan from the technical area.
"On leaving the technical area, Mr Sheridan approached me again, shouting directly at me, 'You really are a c***. I'm gonna knock you out, you c***."
That's a little different from run of the mill verbals don't you think?
You hear worse down a pub on a friday/saturday night.
You ban someone for life for saying they are going to knock you out and drop the c bomb. Where do you stop? Does Calvin Andrew get banned for life for trying to knock someone out? Do you ban someone for life for headbutting someone? Ban someone for life because they broke someones leg in a bad tackle?
I'd say they are worse than being called a name and being threatened to be knocked out. Football lets killers and rapists back in and people want to ban someone for life for threatening to hit someone?

Whilst I 100% agree with the club trying new incentives, as the free entry to all for the Peterborough game, why do I feel as a ST Holder, hard done to again!
ST Holders are reducing season on season, and we are the ones who put our money up-front and to an extent are allowing/helping the club to function....yet are always the forgotten ones when incentives are offered!
Why can they not offer a pie and a pint to ST Holders?
I have e-mailed and 'tweeted' the club - but guess what - absolutely no response whatsoever - and this from a club whose communication reputation is always being slated - yet if we believe what Mark Moisley said on GMR, could be improved!
Maybe they should have let you buy a season ticket for £200?
-
His thinking will be if we beat Peterborough then with the feel good factor there could easily be an extra few hundred Latics fans paying on the day against Bradford...
-
Probably be around 8-9,000. Maybe 10,000 tops.
-
Friday so we can surprise Shrewsbury as they won't be expecting Gerrard, Holloway & Ngoo in the squad on saturday.
-
Hus piece if quality win us the match but I thought the whole game passed him by.
Basically what I thought. His constant backing off rather than pressing invited more pressure onto us and ended up with Fane running around the entire midfield trying to close Gillingham down.
-
If (and it's a big if) Sheridan stays for 18 to 30 months, I'd be very interested to see what he could do with Holloway. I thought he had everything you'd want from a link striker aside from goals. If Shez can get him scoring then we might have another undisclosed fee on our hands!
I think he had goals in him just that he wasn't match fit when he joined. It looked as though Rochdale was the turning point but unfortunately he got injured against Chesterfield not long after. He definitely has the potential to be a championship striker though.
-
I didnt realise he was in relegation scrap, they have dropped like a stone and spent a few quid also.... I'd have him back but he always seem to be looking for another move..
Dropped like a stone since Holden joined them...

I might be wrong, but wasn't Shirtliff Shez's second choice last year? If so, for the life of me I can't remember who 1st choice was supposed to be. And didn't Shirtliff move to USA for a job? Or have I got it all arse about face?
Shirtliff moved back here from USA for the job. Not sure whether he moved back out after leaving us, think someone on here has said he's been at a few of our games this season.

Yep, Boundary Park was almost a fortress again save for defeats to Bury, Dale and Coventry
Bury L0-1
Gillingham W2-1
Port Vale D1-1
Blackpool W1-0
Dale L2-3
Chesterfield W1-0
Swindon W2-0
Walsall W1-0
Crewe W1-0
Coventry L0-2
6 wins from 10 and 5 clean sheets. He's got a few more home games to play with this season. Crack the home form again and we've a chance..
Wasn't it similar when he was previously in charge? Made BP a fortress whilst away form wasn't the greatest.

It's one thing saying it, I'm amazed everyone suddenly believes this bunch is capable, if we don't add four or five we will be down with games to play.
Yes we still need to add. But if your manager is backing you then you are more likely to play well and try harder.
Last season Dunn was saying he needed new players and wouldn't have signed the vast majority of the players. They played :censored:. Sheridan comes in and mentions they are good players and need some confidence suddenly they start putting a shift in and playing better.
This season Robinson has been saying he needed to get rid of 4/5/6 and some would never play again. They play :censored:. Sheridan comes in and says they need some confidence. I'll be surprised if most of them are not playing alot better within 4 weeks...
-
What a quote this is-you are jumping thru hops over Robinson's sacking and then say this-Its people like you who contribute to 7 managers in 2 years.
And before that we only had two permanent managers in 5 years and one only left because he wanted too...
-
4 mins into that press conference, and a lot of bull:censored: it so far
"I got a really good offer"
"Money has never motivated me"
"Oldham did well out of me leaving"
"Didn't think I could take the club any further, didn't want to spoil the achievement of staying up"
He did say as a player (I think).
The bit I noticed most in the interview (and the same as last year) is him saying just need to instill confidence and belief in the players. Both Dunn and Robinson were talking to the press about getting rid of players (rightly or wrongly) and as a result the performances got worse.
-
Robinson: 'Need new players'.
Sheridan: 'Just need to instill some confidence and belief'.
A proper manager again. Welcome home Shez.
-
Does he still have any of his 5 match touchline ban to serve?
-
He's the only one who shows any fight, He'd be a massive loss.
He would be a massive loss. But Gerrard is probably the best we could get as a replacement.
-
And how long would it take him to get up to speed took awhile last time.We are truly f##ked if this happens it is bad enough as it is
No idea. His fitness might not be up to scratch but his reading of the game will be. How well he does initially might well depend on who is the other CB though.
-
I hope that Shez sees that it's been a struggle elsewhere and settles here for 3 o4 seasons, unless we are on our second relegation.
My main worry with Shez is it seems Asst Mgrs and players haven't seemed to follow him for a while, or the ones that did were not popular in the new team.
Is that not down to the circumstances at the time though?
Wright didn't want to move down to Plymouth. Crossley was previously part of his staff at Chesterfield. Shirtliff might have thought he had a chance of the managers job here?
-
I'd guess Gerrard would be Clarke's replacement.
-
He's an 'interim' appointment, so.may not be here long anyway.
He got it full-time a few weeks ago.
-
Burgess subbed at half-time today following Bury conceding three in the first-half.
Wondering if he's any relation to Tim Burgess because......wait for it........they're both Charlatans!
He started on the bench...

Unlikely. Most likely to go to a top league one side if he goes back out on loan unless Sheridan is good mates with Joyce.
Martis hasn't been loaned out by Leicester, might be worth a chance?
