  1. Nice turn of form and before I expected but don't get carried away. I will still settle for JPT final, to give the team experience of Wembley, and a mid table finish.

It may be suggested a JPT Final and a mid table finish, may be getting carried away? Let's hope not.
  2. Best run of results for 7 (seven!!!) years.

Attackers got us is it 21 goals this season? Probably more than the whole of last season.

    We're Clicking!

We are definitely clicking and have been for some time now.

Some of this seasons has been the best football, since the play off season and maybe even better. We are constantly outplaying teams and the stats prove it.

  3. As promised, I have returned to this thread to see how the opinion of the new signings has changed since August.

Jonson Clarke-Harris - 6 - Really come along last few games, so slighty improved mark than before, the fact he needs to be tutored by Subbuteo is worrying for me, as you learn the basics of positional movement when you're in school.

James Dayton - Remains a 6, can be excellent on his day and is in decent form at the moment, scoring against Notts County and Bristol City, but a bit lightweight at times.

Sidney Schmeltz - 5 - Got a few tricks up his sleeve, but the game against Swindon (IIRC) when he ran through on goal with their keeper stranded in our area as they chased the equaliser, when his 'shot' trickled towards goal and stopped short of the net summed him up for me.

Korey Smith - 10 - Unbelievable capture for us, still can't believe we pulled this off. Runs the show, leads by example, and still puts in an amazing shift when asked to fill in at Right Back.

Mark Oxley - 6 - I'm not his biggest fan, but really grown over the last few games, helped no end by the fact we're getting a settled back 4 now with people playing in their actual position.

Charlie MacDonald - 6 - Had a good little spell, but injury has hampered this recently, his misses at Crawley highlight what a hit and miss start he's had, but will probs find us 10 goals this season which is not a bad return.

Anton Rodgers - 6 - Liked his passing and movement from the off, anyone who has trained and played through Chelsea's ranks (despite a fair bit of nepotism) must be able to play, and the last few games he's shown what he's all about and is getting a fair bit of deserved credit.

Adam Rooney - 6 - Dropped due to the potency of the Philliskirk/Clarke-Harris partnership, but has remained professional and is a good lad to have around the camp, his goal yesterday will do him the world of good, and is our top league goalscorer.

Danny Philliskirk - 7 - Despite what anyone says, he was brought in due to the imminent departure of Jose Baxter. To be fair to the lad, he has stepped up the plate and is in fantastic form, one slight criticism would be that his league return is poor with only 1 goal, but his cup heroics are more than making up for it as he shoots us towards a double trip to Wembley.

Paul Rachubka - 6 - For me he should be No. 1, and has shown how dependable he is in his two appearances in the JPT against Preson and Notts. County, conceeding just the one goal. LDJ had it spot on when he said he has two No. 1 GK's in the squad.

Mateo Lanzoni - 6 - Started well and his debut was suitably rewarded with the MOTM award, his rugby tackle after losing the ball was also a highlight, took the form into September and scored at Rotherham, but injury has derailed the promising start.

Genseric Kusunga - 6 - Stepping up to the plate more and more, and a good partnership is developing with Tarky, also filled in excellently at Right Back, where he could actually be better suited, scored a great header vs Wolves.

    Philliskirk 7 and JCH 6

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  4. Great results. Many felt it possible. Why? Because they're a third division team.

Personally delighted to beat the most over inflated team in the most over inflated town/:censored: hole in Britain. Get in!!!!

Wolves is a :censored: hole I'm glad to go home.

    Great result. Did you go?

  5. ITV are ridiculous, Live show of the England game finishing at 22:10 followed by 35minutes of the news, then an hours showing of the bloody highlights of the England game.

I share your frustration, but it would bring 1,000 time bigger audience than FA Cup round 1 highlights!

People who missed the game (:censored: as it was) and all that.

  6. Don't mean to deliberately go against the grain here, but if a seat says reserved then why not just sit in a different one? Some people have sat in the same seats for years just let them have it.

    OR

If you find somebody sat in 'your' seat, why not just politely ask them to move instead of being a prick about it.

For me, reserved means reserved. If I go in a car park and just pay for the day, I wouldn't park anywhere where it said reserved.

Can't agree. I turned up on Tuesday and 2 people were sat in our season ticket reserved seats. I never said a word and just moved down a few seats. If it was on Match day and there was nowhere nearby to sit, I would have had a word. It wasn't a league match, so if anyone would have approached me and stated "thats my seat", I would tell them to do one.

  7. Seen Groves a few times and thought he looks good, but I can't see him beating Froch. He is fighting him at the wrong time as Froch is a much better fighter now than at any time in his career. If Groves was around 5 years ago, he would probably have won this.

That was embarrasing watching Groves the other night though........."Are you crying, are you okay?"........distinct lack or respect and I hope he gets punished for it.

  8. Spot on Lancy, I didnt go to the game yesterday but what concerns me is that I read the Bristol Forum and its obvious from reading the comments that we skinned their full backs time and again but in excellent crosses but no finish..... I was hoping to take at least 4 points out of 6 from the last games.

We need a loan striker for me.

Sounds like we could have had a bagful yesterday.

  9. For me, i don't think Rooney is one the better players in the squad, although i don't agree with your evaluation of us being ':censored:e.'

Our main problem has been our lack of cutting edge in front of goal - i think we're missing someone up top with that edge to them - currently, Rooney, Philliskirk or JCH don't offer that on a consistant basis.

Where are these loans LJ was talking about?

Agree with this, apart from JCH who hasn't had enough playing time...
  10. Dear me. If people think Rooney isn't good enough for us they are deluded. Look at our squad. We are :censored:e. We have done well to get him. He will chip in with goals, despite having players like Weso 'creating' for him. I can't see how we will end up with anyone any better, we haven't got a pot to piss in.

Shots on goal stats mean nowt. Unless we are missing clear cut chances then the stats can paint a false picture. JCH's garbage free kick will have gone in the shots figures.

I think there are a few on here who need to have a realistic view on our squad. We are in for a real struggle this season. Our main problems lie at the back for me.

What? So Wesolowski is doing :censored:? He is playing the best he has ever played for us..

  11. i do believe we don't utilise him well, but still think he's one of a few who give 110% every week, and is the only one currently scoring so in fairness he's deserved to keep his place!

Can't agree with that at all.

I think he has given 100% in the past 4 or 5 matches, but before that he looked very lazy if I'm honest (after an impressive pre season).

  12. Struggling for goals, he's our top scorer and is on course to score more goals in a season than anyone last season.

He isn't going to score every game but he is very good at defending from the front, a important part of our game-plan, especially when we play well, that often goes unnoticed.

His goal on Tuesday was his first goal for some time from open play, in the League (Port Vale in August IIRC).

I never mentioned anyone from last season, because goal scoring last season was a very big problem and until Smith came good with a run of games we were down.

We need our main striker to score more than 1 in 4 or 5 right now, with the chances we are creating.

  13. Great to hear we've outplayed yet another team without winning. Don't get me wrong, I am right behind LJ and the team but how many shots did their keeper have to save. And it's becoming a recurring theme - lots of good passing - but no shot at the end of it. Goals win games and if you don't shoot you don't score. We are not far from being a very good side it just needs more work on the final third of our play.

Do you not think it will come in time? LJ has been in charge for little over 20 matches in total and for somebody who was ready to quit my 20+ years season ticket, I a more than happy to admit I was very very wrong.

We are playing the best football I have seen for many years, but he needs time to get it together and he also needs a ruthless streak...

Keep the faith, we will be reet.
