With the news breaking that seemingly Ian Baraclough will be leaving Latics after the Wimbledon game, would anybody else like to see Peter Clarke groomed by John Sheridan as a future Latics Coach or even Manager, I read recently that he is keen on staying in the game in some coaching capacity when he does eventually retire from playing. He certainly displays All the role model attributes whenever he plays i.e. Fierce Determination, Professional discipline, Total dedication, Respected, etc, etc, all qualities that I for one think are essential first and foremost in the makeup of a successful future Manager/Coach in the modern game. Does anyone on here know if he has even done his FA badges yet, I think most Interested 36 year old players usually have ? He certainly seems to have a very good working rapport with Sheridan who is certainly a very similar character as well. Thoughts please. ?

Opinions4u, I was talking to our no7 John Pritchards father before the game at B.P. he was saying that after being released by Manchester Utd where he had been for the last 10 yrs mainly as a prolific Striker, he had about 20 clubs interested in signing him, but after speaking to T Philliskirk, M.Priest, & Paul Dickov who really impressed them, they decided OAFC just felt like the right club to hopefully progress at, and up to now he is loving it here. Certainly looks a good prospect from what ive seen of him in our youth team games this season.

Please push the boat out to sign this lad up long term asap, forget the current 4 month deal, think, weve got to speculate to accumalate, Jose Baxter has the football brain, and natural talent the majority of players at our level can only dream about. I think in the coming months, he could attract a lot of attention from the scouting fraternity, especially once he gets a prolonged run of games under his belt and his general fitness, and match sharpness improves. Does anybody else see the potential for a big, investment profit on him, say in a year or two ???

He played in the game on tues against Newcastle, he did ok and scored our goal. Good luck to him at OAFC and hope he gets off to a flyer at MK Dons, IF selected.

Someone, usually reliable, has posted on the OAFC Ezine message board, that there was a meeting yesterday afternoon at Boundary park, where Simon Corney told Lee Dux. and Tony Philiskirk, that there would be NO FUNDS available next year for Reserve and Youth Team Development, apparently Dux stormed out and Tony Phil. was absolutely fuming, as you would expect. Really hope this is not true. Can anybody on HERE get any info. to confirm or deny, Please.
