Loved seeing the Web Manager of Sunderland AFC giving the V and abusing Liverpool fans.
You can take the boy out of Oldham but you can't take Oldham out of the boy.
Well done Stu!

I honestly don't think we will sell him. The money isn't really relevant, as the spending cap comes in next season, so we need promotion before then otherwise we're going to have to cut back. Also apparently transfer fees aren't included in the spending cap, so us getting £5m/£10m/whatever from selling him wouldn't increase our budget for next season. So from our point of view, there's no incentive to sell him and he doesn't seem the type to push through his own move; he's a lovely guy that still lives at home with his parents, a million miles from your typical footballer.
I reckon he'll be off in the summer, as it would be unfair to stand in his way any longer. He'll definitely be gone if we stay down, and may still go if we go up.
Anyway, just popped on in an attempt to avoid revision (which also means I can't make the game vs. you). Hope you all had a cracking night last night, and that it wasn't ruined by whatever turns out to have gone on near the end. What a cracker from Simpson, glad he's doing well for you.
Swot.

Great night despite the score.
For those that chose not to be there...shame on you.

taylor played well, had a couple of chances when he could have had a shot but passed it but shows what he can do when he has some space. the opposite to scapuzzi who i thought would have shown what he can do more than he did
Though Scapuzzi did win two tackles when defending in the first half! First time for everything.

The Chesterfield tickets have not gone n open sale yet but i only see about 1000-1600 going anyway so hardly any rush for tickets
Maybe ...but some on here were saying that no way would we sell our allocation for Anfield.

NO THANKKS, WAY OVER PRICED- WITH THE GAMES LEFT, IN MY VIEW! PICK AND CHOOSE!
Nothing personal, but that's a k**bhead statement.
Thanks for the way you are supporting Latics.

A top man.
Excellent.

Why ?
Maybe when it was backed by the club you could demand it up all the time but with it now being fan owned and run by volunteers I think we just have to grin and bear any outages
And no before someone says it im not arse kissing
Wow!
Merely wondering why it was down - and as Admin/mods are I think always on here then a line explaining would be interesting. Don't think I said it should be "up all the time".
happy to grin and near outages but still interested to know why it happened.

Latics 2 Chesterfield 0

Would be nice to have a statement from the club (oops, the Mods/Admin team).

Shame. I like Brunton Park and thought there was room to redevelop it. Space behind both the open end and the main stand. But I guess the money's not there for just a football ground and if the new one is part of a bigger development that's where the financing , or much of it, will come from.
And that's where we are - we need the money that comes with other facilities/services/buildings. And I believe the Board are doing a lot to bring this finance in. An announcement in January.

Used to be part of Sky's Premiership coverage on a regular basis.
I can remember Latics v Norwich in 93/4 (I think) which was televised and inflatable sumos battled it out at Boundary Park

haven't got a link as on my phone but check mine out (jimblingeuph)...i put "you always have been and always will be...a :censored:." then something about his dad being :censored: and gannon will get the job. I then received a small tirade of abuse from Ian Moore lovers...gannon then got the job and i give it back to em! great fun...
Classy. Reflects well on Latics.

I wasn't comparing distances, I was comparing the size of the game in that region!!! Us drawing City (in Greater Manchester) is like Bradford drawing Sheff U (In Yaaarkshire) there's only one team bigger than Sheff U in Yorkshire, despite what the Hudds fans would have you believe and thats Leeds, who you'd compare to Man U for us.
So you see, massive game for Bradford the other night, probably the biggest in their history, it's a bit of a come down now coming to BP, just like it would be us going to Hudds/PNE after beating City the round before, coz they are small fish to the games we have against City and United, do you remember the 90's??
That has to be the most incorrect statement ever on here!!!
Bigger than the FA cup Final, bigger than winning promotion to the Premiership etc etc....??!!
And I'd have to say the rest of your logic is ...how do I say this...flawed.
Distance is a major factor to how many fans travel so Sheffield for them can't be compared to Eastlands for us.
And the "come down" is irrelevant. They are getting closer to the final so that's the inducement!

If only we had more PlayerShare subscribers.
Or just more money generally.
-
They've been given an initial 600 tickets according to C'field website.
I imagine they'll only be allocated the small section of the RRE.
-
To put that in perspective....it's like us drawing City away, taking 1,200 (even though it's on't box)
then drawing Hudds/PNE (or someone even sh1tter than that) in the semi and everyone expecting us to take 3,000 when in reality we'd take 500, so i think all of this talk of 3,000 for a Jpt Semi (quarter Final) is a bit over excitable!!
Other than the facts that Bradford to Sheffield is 50 miles and Oldham to Eastlands about 6, plus Sheef Utd not quite being a Man City, your analysis is spot on.
Your original post compared Latics at City to Bradford at Sheff Utd - glad to see you've had second thoughts...

45% of the gate receipts from a 76,000 crowd at OT is the dream.
Plus the prize money from winning the tie.

Beauty from the MSP on Saturday.
After Burton scored their goal - a shout aimed at Dickov:
"Bloody hell Paul - get him off he's :censored:e, Get Gerrard in the nets"
Yep - we do indeed have some herberts who follow us.
To be fair it was Gerrard's mum.
-
1200 to Sheffield Utd and that was being screened live on tv.
At least 2000 .
-
OK it's not that important but I think lots of people smiled at Hudds losing 4-1.
-
If only the players had the same attitude as some on here......we'd be out of every cup and bottom of the league.
-
There are loads of people better at managing than Pd...well it seems so judging from the insight and exopertise from some on here.
We comfortably won. We scored three.they scored one.
-
Should be decent crowd. bradford will bring over 2000 - took 1200 to Sheffield and they'll be up for a Semi.
Communication?
