  1. Ex-Oldham defender Reuben Hazell joins Shrewsbury Town

Hazell started his career with Aston Villa Former Oldham captain Reuben Hazell has joined Shrewsbury after offering his services to manager Graham Turner.

The 32 year-old decided he wanted to play for the Shrews after watching their play-off defeat against Torquay last season.

"I phoned Graham Turner and spoke to him about watching the play-off game," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"I thought they needed more experience and I thought of myself."

He added: "Ian Sharps was injured and a young lad came on, it stuck in my mind."

    Very proactive. Good for him.

  2. Oh yee of little faith.

Credit to Dickov on this one. If he can sell the club to someone of M'Voto's status when the likes of Huddersfield are in the chase, then fair play.

The sale of Stephens will be well worthwhile if he can now also bring in the striker that he wants. I'd take M'Voto and the striker over keeping Stephens every day of the week and I say that as one of Stephens's fans.

The only way we had success previously was with a manager who could wheel and deal, sacrificing 1 hear and there for the benefit of the many.

This signing will leave a number of our fans absolutely speechless.

    Please!

  3. How can you have an opinion on something you know nothing about? The problem with making statments like you did is that some idiots read and belive them, I read a comment on the oafc messageboard where someone made a claim that he had stolen all the money from the 90's.

Just so you know no-one said you would want to go to court, the point is that if AH saw the comment and felt vindicated enough to sue you, he would. (From a legal point of view he does have vindication)

And OWTB too for publishing and not removing the statement.

  4. Rochdale sign another ex-City youngster in defender Andrew Tutte,

Hope the work-shy, sick claiming scrotes don't enjoy the success we had!!! they are becoming us circa. 87-88 (Barrett, Warhurst, Thompstone….further back the Dodger, Tony Hery, Paul Futcher, Kenny Clements, we got Milligan from their Associate Schoolboy Crop, Willie, Joe, etc, etc….)

    Spurdle, Branagan Johnstone, Lister

  5. Mistake on Lewi leaving IMHO and good luck to the lad. Rumour has it that he's needs a rocket up his 'aris in training but I agree that the team looked more balanced and productive with him in it.

Incidentally, what's the fascination with the official site and players who have exited the club? I'm more interested in developments of players coming into the club as on one hand it's early days but on the other pre-season starts next week and we need the team gelling as early as possible so we're off and running come August.

I know it's to generate hits to the site or something but in a order of priority, I'm more interested in whats coming into the club shop in way of newly branded merchandise so I can buy to wear on holiday rather than being told that someone who left us last season (or even longer ago) has signed for X. In the words of Hawksbee and Jacobs - "Who Cares?" and "What a waste of ink (or pixels or whatever on this occasion)"

It's news that may be of interest to some. No harm. Not everyone trawls all the sites and a round up of what's happening in our division doesn't go amiss.

  6. Probably isn't.

Notice has been put out by the club to start the interest off , obviously need the funds to try and sign some of PD's targets ???

Fair bit got to happen in the next couple of weeks to get me excited about the new season.

We are looking like the extremely poor relations in terms of signings so far compared with other sides in league one.

Even Yeovil have signed replacements for the players they have lost so far.

A few have signed a couple. No more.

  7. Just a reminder to snap up your tickets for this "do". Great menu with entertainment.

Paulo Dickov and his wife Jan will be present and looking forward to meeting new friends. Gerry Taggart, Paul Butler anf his girlfried will also be there.

Joe Royle and his wife will also be present. Criag at the Milan Bar want to make this a night for everyone to remember and at the price, tickets are a real steal.

Hope to see you there. Paul will also address the guests.

    Barry

    Thanks Barry.

    Should be a good night.
