Won't ever win a goal of the season competition but christ what a day and what a way to end a season. The best ever game i have been to and we were Champions!!!!

I'm getting goosebumps just sat here thinking about it.

LJ has stated in recent interviews that he has loan options and is in constant talks with agents and clubs with regards to player availablity, "we have plenty of plates spinning". was i think his phrase.

We are on a 3 match winning streak, defensivly sound and creating goalscoring chances.

If the RUMOUR is fact with regards to Ebanks Blake training with us LJ may just want keep looking from a far and his options open at the moment and hope that the Ebanks Blake deal comes off.

Like most fans though i feel we do need a powerfull target man someone who can be focal point of our forward play and for likes of Poleon, Forte & Philly to feed off and make things happen, one who scores goals whould be great to (if only Ian Marshall or Frankie Bunn were still available).

The Furtherwood Road stalker says LJ confirmed he is training with us but won't be signing as he's 4 stone overweight. What a waste of an exceptionally promising career!

Yes what a waste i know he has struggled with injuries for the past season or two but i am sure he was at Ipswich and playing 1st team football last season, so to put 4 stone on in the close season must be a record the Jose Baxter would be proud of.

Let's hope he can get himself back fit and playing football hopefully for us!!!!

Can anyone confirm that we have Ebanks Blake training with us, sure i read it somewhere, but nothing doing with regards to signing him at the minute as he is very unfit and a stone or two overweight.

I think if we can get him fit what a signing that would be, perfect for the lone striker role, quick strong and knows where the onion bag is.

Just signed for Oxford United anyone else think we have missed a trick here not bringing him in. Experienced striker who has scored goals wherever he has been. Something we are severely lacking at the moment.

Listening to LJ on Latics player. He states that on our budget to bring someone in there is always going to be some risk to the deal whether that be an -

injury plagued last season or two

Someone who is young and a rough diamond.

A player who has fell out of favour and has something to prove.

Bearing in mind the first statement about injuries would a Will Hoskins or the third statement a Chris Eagles be pushing the wage limit to much? Both I am led to believe are available on a free and would be marquee signings for a league 1 club of our stature.

4-1-4-1 for me, with the flexabilty to change to a 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 depanding on match circumstances.

One good thing about the squad this season is that we are not short of options to change formation or style of play either from the bench or starting XI.

Shame that far too many players that we have had at our beloved club over recent seasons haven't had the same desire and passion to do well and leave everything on the pictch whether they are talented or not.

Great Signing this and a bit of coup for our budget and this league. Lets just hope his injury woes are behind him.

Really pleased with our defensive options now and how the squad is shaping up.

One or two more signings during the course of the season and a bit of luck with injuries and suspensions and a top ten finish could be well within our sights.

I think a lot will depend if any of our young players go out on loan to get valuable game time. I wouldn't want players like Truelove, Bove, Turner just to stagnate and only get 5 minutes every other week or so, as that is not going to aid their development. A lot will depend on Gros if we bring in another Striker or not.

Maybe then we will look at bringing in one or two more expeiranced players or young academy players from a team in a higher league, Depending on how much of a wage contribution the clubs will want us to give.

For me i still think we are a player light in most positions but i don't want players that are just going to sit on the bench and make up the numbers, i would only want players on loan that are going to come in and make a difference to the matchday squad, first team. Neither would i want players just to come in for a month or two and get themselves back fit after a lengthy injury, we have had enough of those in past and they have provided nothing to the team.

6 month loan - full season loan deals only please.

With any loan deal at our level and our budget there is always a risk, but they could also be the difference to a decent season.

Surprised that Kusunga hasn't taken the No 5 shirt and J Wilson the No 6. Perhaps I am just to much a traditionalist.

Interesting that the number 9 and 11 shirt not been taken yet gives us all hope that there is a bit of money left for that marque signing. I am sure we will be very underwhelmed though.

Top 6 - Sheff UTD Winners by at least 10 -15 points. Then i think playing budget will determine the rest i don't think there will be alot to choose from about a dozen clubs but i think the same old faces will be there or there abouts - Bristol City, Preston, Peterborough, Leyton Orient, Swindon & MK Dons.

Bottom 4 - Crewe, Crawley, Colchester and Gillingham.

Latics - Hard to say as this year i think take out Sheff UTD there is much of a muchness in this division and a 20 goal a season and a settled defence could be good enough to get us in the top 10 and maybe play offs however with no goalscorer and a few injuries it could see us looking over our shoulder for large parts of the forthcoming season. So anywhere between 9th and 16th.

Could someone find out if he is any closer to an appointment being made on his number 2 or is he slready at the club under another disguise. Ie Murray or Byrne.

Also any chance of anymore signings in the budget as the midfield and striking options seem varied and decent if Rooney signs but goalkeeping and defensive are very poor.

5ft 10 might be on the short side for a centre half but over a hundred games for boro in the premier league and championship is not a bad level. Could be the experiance LJ is after and only 26 years old fits the LJ long term plan.

All has gone quiet on the Ian Evatt rumour if there was ever any truth in it.

Been chatting to a Bristol City season ticket holder and he seems to think that LJ is hoping to bring in a couple of their defenders from last season.

Croft for me without his assists Baxter wouldn't have got half his goals this season. The way he has performed over the last 3 months of the season swung it for me away from Baxter.

Big player for us and need him signed up, streamlined and raring to go in a latics shirt next season.

Oh and I believe he has only missed one game this year as well. I may be wrong. Not a bad effort for an overweight winger for most of the season:-)

Like most Latics fans I am baffled that it is taking or has taken so long to bring in a new gaffer. Since Dickov left Forest, Preston, York, notts county and Coventry to name but a few have all named a new manager so why is it taking so long for us to get someone in.

TP has said from day one that he doesnt want the job on a permanant basis so surely something should have been done to bring someone in sooner even if it was only interviews and preliminary talks.

Around 1 million pounds of extra unbudgeted income has been achieved from the cup run so why the hell is it taking so bloody long. Does SC want this club to go down.

Something has to be done this week as it is now becoming a bloody joke.
