  1. We had a new Conservatory installed and 1 of the fitters told me he had been inside, I listened to his story and tried to give him some guidance and understanding for trying to re-build his life!

If he had asked me to pay £22 to watch him do his job whilst I sang his name I would have kicked him off the job!

I presume you paid him much more than £22?

  2. Sorry - I'm a bit late to the party.

It's not great publicity signing a convicted rapist, just like it wasn't great publicity signing Lee Hughes.

However, from a purely football perspective, we're skint and we need a striker.

I can see both sides of the argument and will continue to support OAFC, whatever the decision may be.

  3. According to the viewing figures 700,000 people watched us get knocked out of the JPT against Chesterfield. Nearly 7 million watched beat Liverpool and about 6 million watched us draw with Everton.

They definitely didn't tune in to watch Liverpool or Everton. Just Oldham.

  4. I think membership schemes are supposed to be banned - be interested to know which clubs are running them and how they work.

The reasoning was that turn up on the day supporters from both sides should be charged the same price for the same standard of facilities. If one group has a membership system that allows a lower on the day purchase, then that is unfair. A season ticket is "paid in advance" and apparently is OK.

The DD option for STs is a good one, and one that I think the club should at, and any offer that allows people to get part ST or 10 match vouchers etc are a great idea but they would have to offer a rate that is no better (and probably slightly worse) than a full Season Ticket price. As a ST holder myself I wouldn't mind if any offer allowed the same price per game as my ST, but I understand that some will feel aggrieved.

A simple search on Google proves membership schemes at football clubs are very much alive and kicking (excuse the Halloween pun).

From what I can see, as long as the ticket is purchased in advance then there's no reason a membership system can't be introduced.

  5. The drum suggestion has gone down a treat on their forum:

'Jesus Wept, a truly shocking suggestion. It's bad enough having to go to the games as it is without some :censored:er banging away on a drum all game. There was an absolutely fantastic atmosphere at the last home game, best there has been for ages, and we still got paggered.'
