  1. Yes! It would just be a nice gesture to the fans queuing up in the freezing cold to get a ticket to watch a team of footballers who get paid far too much. I don't want to make a big deal out of it, it just would have been nice to know that the club doesn't just see everything as a money making opportunity!

I hate statements like this, typical rubbish trolled out to moan about something we as fans know little about. I have no idea what any of the Oldham lads are on but doubt it is huge amounts, and Liverpool players are on a lot granted but who deciedes what is too much? What should they be paid? I'm not saying wages aren't out of control, but it only ever gets mentioned when the person is moaning about something.

Another bugbear for me is "he didn't his wages today" but that's another debate for a different day, anyway well done Latics for sourcing another form of small though it maybe revenue.

  2. Well, seeing as though I'm not a Bookmaker, nope!

There's some proper donkey :censored: in our League. Scunthorpe, Pompey, Hartlepool, Shrewsbury will drop.

    Agree we won't go down

Hartlepool down more or less already, Shrewsbury were worst team I've seen at BP for a long time including Latics, Scunthrope will be ok but Bury or Colchester will go and lets not forget Pompey's 10 point deduction

  3. As I said, PD not got the best options, but yep today i would have.

A tired croft offers nothing, a fresh brown might, it's not as simple as, he s an attacker , he's a defender , a full back can play wide midfield , it's not like I'm saying play brown up top is it ?

Again, your opinions welcome, what would you have done ?

I don't think what Dickov did today was that bad, even going three at the back wasn't a bad move. The mistake was putting Millar in centre midfield, Hughes should have been on before him anyway.

  4. Doesn't matter what I would do, I have nt spent most of my life in professional football.

But seen as you ask . .

Taylor straight swap for smith , croft off he was shattered , brown on. That would have been on the hour Mark , give it 10, then mellor for Winchester who gave a lot and made some good runs to give Jose someone to look for, thus was knackered too, mellor left, Jose n changy in middle, Simmo off taylor , leaving FOUR at the back, 2 fresh wide men, our best player in the centre getting in the ball, Simmo in his ( apparently ) best position, and a forward who can actually run the channels , which hard as smithy tries, he can't do.

So that's what I'd have done but I'm sure many will disagree , obv PD ain't got the best options but you have to utilise what you've got rather than the same failed tactics time and time again.

So in order to chase a game, you would take an attacker to bring a defender on? So guessing you don't the three players we had on the bench who could all play that position or is Brown the new Dan Taylor?

  5. I think today was just a match they had to get through before a new lot of staff could be brought in, I might be one of the few that things Dickov's positoned has possibly been strengthed depending on who comes in. If new staff come in is SC likely to get rid of Dickov and pay for new staff again? If Tony P gets a promotion it would mean a manager could be brought in without anyone besides Dickov being sacked and if a former expirenced manager is brought in to advise Dickov then he could prove to be a huge threat.

If someone like Horton comes in then expect Dickov to be here at least until the end of the season, if Phil Brown or someone similar is on the way to BP he will be gone before Febuary and if Tony P earns a promotion then it's anyone's guess what the future holds.

  6. A strange move but if Corney sees more than us and I think he must have done it with the approval of Dickov, there are options out there who could do a good job as assitant/advisor. Shame about Duxbury although I did sit behind him during the Bury game and he spent the whole chatting to a woman driectly behind, he didn't seem too interested in the game. If it was his wife and she's ill then fair enough, I think Paul Gerrard will be stay but his position will come under review depending on who is brought in.
