  1. Morais on his day has the ability to play at a higher level than League 1, I fully expected him to sign in May but now I have my doubts. I would like to keep him as otherwise it leaves us short in the flair and winger options, but he did do this last summer. He was one of the last to sign so maybe a similar situation is developing and he'll sign this week, along with Kuqi, M'Chang and Millar. I think Simmos on his way if I'm honest.

  2. I'm not saying what he said was right or fair but it has to be said that this a young guy protecting a mate, he wasn't defending a rapist and attacking a rape victim in his eyes. He was defending an innocent man, and attacking a girl who he feels has ruined his life. Naive, loyal, stupid you could pick any one of those three, but unless you actually know the kid it is harsh to call him scum. I may be wrong he may be an utter arse who feels rape isn't a big offence, but it could also be a case of a kid saying something thick which we've all done.

  3. Woah woah woah! (That's English for 'stop a horse)

How has this thread turned into a witch-hunt?

I was having a pop at the constant overhype on and around the OS; NOT the players who happen to feature in these articles.

Yes, fair enough, traffic equals revenue, but don't announce the signing of an international when it turns out to be a player for a country ranked 67,574 in the Fifa Rankings and, similarly, don't overhype a player who has yet to make a league appearance as 'exciting'.

It's almost as if the club is mocking itself.

PS. Good luck to Connor Brown.

Wes was clearly the exciting news, alothough in fairness to yourself that was yet to be announced when you made the thread. An international who has played one game for the worst team in the world is still an international, are you expecting the club to say 'Player from a country you've never heard and aren't very good signs for Oldham-yes it seems we are scraping the barrell but please still come.' It's also down to opinion some will look at Brown as exciting simply because there hasn't been any signings.

The club gets moaned at for 'over-hyping' and 'misleading' but it has also then moaned for 'not selling the club enough.'

  4. 42 games 8 goals I think I read somewhere, that alone is enough to say he should be gone. Strikers target 1 in 3 at the very least, tubby, slow, lazy, always offside and apart from 1 or 2 games awful. At the start of the season he looked like he might be dangerous but he didn't once Kuqi came in, lest we forget when he went off v MK we ripped them apart.

  5. maybe so but you shouldnt come out with a hard line approach like he has then sit on ya hands and hope they sign.....otherwise everytime he tears strips off players after defeats there not gonna listen or give him any kind of respect, saying one thing and doing the opposite.....

once the deadline had passed there should of been an update to say wether players were in negotiations or not......people wont buy season tickets if we dont sign anybody....

Has he done that though? As it been announced that Dickov hasn't done out since the offer was made? Could have been on the phone to them everyday for all we know.

  6. Most people were arguing that PD should be given another year (despite 2 less than impressive full seasons under his belt) as he was building something here - thus needed to be afforded patience and more time - and we were all sick of the new manager/summer clearout/starting afresh routine.

I was happy to go along with the above so long as we kept hold of the players with which we could build a team around such as Furman, Cisak, Lee, Morais, Taylor, Simpson etc.

Out of the above two have gone (including the best of the bunch), two appear to be 50/50 and we should be ok with Furman and Cisak as they are in contract.

Anybody else not fully trust PD to build pretty much a new squad from scratch?

    For goodness sake

  7. A team of armed robbers go out to rob a bank, they don't intend to kill anyone and have planned not to. They accidentally kill someone, they still get charged with murder- in some states that boosts their murder to death penalty severity. In the UK they would still get charged with murder. Why is it any different to deliberately getting in your car when drunk, driving dangerously, and accidentally killing someone? If you intend to commit a crime and consequences mean you commit a more serious crime unintentionally you get charged with the more serious crime. Intent to commit a crime doesn't automatically stop if you accidentally commit a more serious crime, I would argue that McCormick failed to stop himself from driving when drunk and the consequence was that he killed two boys- pertinent to the bit in bold

Its one the of the areas where despite the law supposedly being blind it has rose tinted spectacles on when it comes to driving. IMO either the armed robbers should get charged with manslaughter or the drunken dangerous driver should get charged with murder.

Because they went there with a gun, they took a weapon designed for killing. How can you compare the two?
