  1. Posted this another thread by mistake, sorry if you have read it already.

I am told that Walsall let kids have a season ticket for 46 pounds. Each home game they attend they get two quid back in cash!

If they attend all the games they get the season for free. Great idea to encourage attendance and slowly draw them in.

    What do you think?

  2. I went to the Port Vale v Burton Albion match last night - only cos I work with supporters of each team - 7-1 to PV by the way.

Anyway, they reduced ticket prices to about £9 for home supporters only, it was £20 in the away end (where I went!!!). Didn't think that was allowed? Surely that encourages away support in the home end? It worked though there were over 10,000 there as opposed to he usual 6-7,000. Don't we always pass any offer on like that to away support too?

One of he lads I was with told me about what he thinks happens at Walsall which I think is a superb idea. Kids (which I think means 16 and under) pay £46 for a season ticket. Each time they go to a game they get £2 back in cash!!! If you go to all home games you get the season for free. Seems to me getting a couple of quid every fortnight would be appealing to a ten year old! If it encourages them to go then they may get hooked and end up shelling out for years like the rest of us. Great idea.

  3. Don't get the anti Phil Brown stuff, 99/100 of managers will have failures on the CV if they have been around a while, not many will have successes or will have managed for lengthy periods in the top two divisions.

Can we really expect someone with a better pedigree to be interested in us? If he's affordable and wants to come then get him in.

  4. Before we go overboard about much of this squad lets not forget that they have got us into a relegation fight, they can't be that good can they. It's all about consistency this game and we won't get anywhere until we have a first team that will regularly get 7 or 8 out of 10 week in week out and not just on the odd albeit glorious occasion. The players must know this and hopefully will feel a responsibility for where we are despite the admiration we give them for a great cup run. There's a lot to do yet lads, get your heads down and get us out of this mess.

  5. I was a bit disappointed, once we were one up and they had a man sent off they dominated for fifteen minutes or so, after that it was all Latics and we ought to have created more than we did, don't know why we struggle to put ten men away. Nevertheless three points, though against he bottom of the league at home against ten men we ought to have done better.

On the bright side another in, onwards and upwards, well one lads.
