Be disappointing though wouldn't it, getting a great draw at a premiership club and finding nobody there
-
Glad we got Liverpool away though, amazing the amount of empty spaces at premier league grounds for the cup, Aston Villa for example. Fantastic that this match sold out.
-
Great to see the whole game on LTV.
Great credit to Kasunga, Tarky, Grounds, Smith (what a player this lad is) and Wes.
Petrasso improving every game. Wouldn't mind Rodgers getting more game time next to both Smith and Wes, neat and tidy footballer
Thought Oxley and Rooney were decent too, the rest just ok. Disappointed JCH couldn't get into the game, Mellor good at times, very poor at others.
Man of the match, Sterling comfortably.
Pity Tarky was adjudged to have fouled late on (wrongly) as we were in a great position had play continued.
Not enough of a threat to claim we were unlucky but played some lovely football at times.

Shut up with that drum!

Ahead of both Mellor And Winchester for me. Neat and tidy and moves the ball on. Needs a run so we can really see if he can cut it. I think he could.
-
Rodgers before Winchester and Mellor every time for me, they have had enough chances to stake a claim. Would like to see them out on loan or shipped at the end of the season, enough's enough.

Whole match available on blades player, you can sign in if you subscribe to Latics Player, same every year at SUFC official site for some reason.

Merry Christmas all, we have a great club, let's all stick with them and with each other, things feel on the up to me genuinely and this despite our position, odd isn't it, or maybe it's just Chritmas.

What does Rodgers have to do to get a run? he's streets ahead of both Mellor and Winchester for me
-
Good as Baxter undoubtedly is he isn't blessed with pace, I suspect this will stop him getting any further than lower championship

Best chant of the night, 'they're here, they're there, they're every f.......g where empty seats, empty seats'

I hate goal music.
I also hate the big loud music build up..........followed immediately by a flat atmosphere when we kick off.

Cannot understand any criticism of Wes and Smith on Tuesday, both were far more effective than Winchester and Montano who offered very little, Dayton slightly better, but not by much. They look to me now like a solid midfield pairing.
Really disappointed with us on Tuesday, I live down here and took along a couple of local friends saying we.may well lose but we'll have most possession and have a go. My heart sank when i saw the line up, 4:5:1. At the end one of them said 'I'm glad I don't watch Oldham every week!' I thought beforehand that they might be singing their praises at the end! Must take off the rosé coloured glasses.

I work in Wolverhampton, pub after work, match........perfick.

My mates into sadism, necrophilia and beastiality, I think he's flogging a dead horse..............

I'm pretty certain that the superb partnership was with Paul Atkinson who went on to sign for Watford

Just got me thinking though, how many quality ball playing centre halfs have we had at BP. The pick of the bunch for me would be Jobbo, but Kevin Moore in his short time here also was comfortable on the ball.
Going back a bit but Paul Futcher was one of my favourites, him and Kenny Clements were a class above what we've seen at BP fo one time.

Stoke City are using some of their extra money from Sky to give supporters free coach travel to all 19 away league games.
Stoke too are sponsored by Peter Coates' Bet 365.

It's still raspberry

It's raspberry not pink.

Inclined to think he could do a job for us still. IF he does come back he'd have a lot to prove again and he'd have to win over a new manager who I don't think is a pushover.
He's probably blown his chance though and would have been re-signed by now if it was on the cards.
-
Paul Heaton from a similar era too though he didn't really fulfil a lot of early promise.
You can add Bruce Grobellar to the category of entertaining aswell
-
John Ryan our attacking left back was exciting particularly his link play with Paul Atkinson
-
Yes, thanks for that, like our new kit by the way.

Back from the game. Certainly wasn't drab thought the first half was the better, two decent footballing teams on show tonight. It looked like a game that would be sorted by 1 goal and no reason to think we wouldn't get it. It went Walsall's way as is often the case, a sloppy goal that I'd need to see again, it fell for them, they scored.
Lucky to get the pen but you know to rest. Would have given us a deserved point.
Charlie Mac looked sharp again, Harkins is going to be good for us and looks like he will make things happen and importantly he wants the ball even when surrounded. One of our better footballing days but just lack that edge (luck?). Enjoyed the game not the result which is becoming a familiar tale. Not much to choose between the sides in reality.
