A mystery based on the limited number of times I saw him. Seems to be as very infrequent scorer at Salford
indeed. maybe they play him as a winger or in the Emile Heskey role?
whatever the situation l think Senior Luamba must be very proud*
*l stole that one off you

Luamba plays at a higher level than we do

Haven’t had a season ticket for 30 years.
Last season, and to some degree the season before, were anomalies in that there was no correlation between quality of product and sales (the frank effect).
That effect (on crowds) won’t last another season as I have no doubt season ticket sales will be showing.
However, the last couple of seasons have proved that our fan base is there to be had (I previously wasn’t convinced of that).
But no business can expect its customers to shell out when the product is poor.
The new season is a reset in that regard and we will see a more honest correlation between product quality and number of paying punters.
Over to you Royle, Mickey et al
good post. l'm not expecting any drop in sales, tho.

when does the early bird end? be an interesting comparison.
l suppose a slight drop will be acceptable..

I know?
Just an example of a lower league team getting some business done early, plus we get linked with the same players half the time
liverpool and city haven't bought anybody yet if we are doing random comparisons

looks s deliberately tough schedule, league teams at home and non league teams away.
booooo boyz must be excited already.

Don't think you were scouting him the one day I was his strike partner.
Inter league game for the Nelson pub against a team from Barnsley at their pitch.
Our keeper had a better offer that day so our manager went in goal replete with Frank flat cap as I remember (ahead of his time).
In a game interrupted for 90 minutes by a schools cricket final who's boundary overlapped the football pitch we took the lead, twice.
It all went downhill from there and it finished Team from Barnsley 21 Nelson 3 (Naylor 2, Morose 1).
which Nelson? the one Tro played number 10 for? what a player he was

Thought Chuks Akuneto was youth team coach, much lauded by BP1960

Even after releasing players we still had 19 under contract, plus the 3 young pros now added. There will need to be departures and names like Norman, Shelton, Sheron and Hogan have, we are told, been advised to look elsewhere. That still leaves the likes of Willoughby and Nuttall who didn't figure in plans.
So yes, there will be a cull and no, the young pros will not be on only £150.
And we don't average 7,000+. Not yet anyway.
ok sorry 6924, the best part of 7000 then.
l'm expecting Willoughby to be given a chance in pre season and also for him to take that chance, maybe Nuttall too.
clean slate for all 19 of them for me..

If they have offered Atherton £150 pw I'll guarantee he won't be signing any deal and will appear at a higher level for someone else next season. I think in order to keep him they will have had to offer decent terms as i'm sure he will have plenty of other offers.
we have had first teamers on £280 so l can not see an untried youth on more than a £150 incremental deal at this stage.
call it £250 pw its still less than a grand for all three of em..

Perhaps adding to the rumour that MM will be reunited with coach Mike Jackson
potentially a good shout..

So does that make 22 contracted players on the books?
Doesn't leave much wriggle room. Roll on the cull.
weve just binned off about eight players, there is no cull and plenty of wriggle room. three youth players on £150 pw isnt going to dent anybody's budget, let alone a big club with 7000+ average crowds.

Good Luck Muzza.
must ne hard to be an Academy Manager with no Academy, tbf.

you have no reason to believe that leaving the signing of players until the last minute, when all the best ones have gone elsewhere, makes 'one jot of difference'??
hmmm...
