On the phone in Matt said he knows people from the club listen to it. Quite a few came on to say how disappointed they were with his lack engagement and the dire performances.
A couple of days later we get this, unfortunately for DU the die is cast with his players and the fans. And is his position is only going one way. However I do find it pleasing /reassuring that the club have spoken to him, to try and engage. At the very least it shows they acknowledge our concerns.
It’s a good point that there is a positive in this that the club are at least listening and trying.
However this just comes across as completely disingenuous and contradictory, much like Unsworth’s previous interviews. As above, it feels as though he’s insulting our intelligence.

Scattergun approach isn't it? Very crazy...
It’s an approach you might expect from non football people. With the Royle’s in charge, it’s really bizarre.

Sounds like exactly what we need. Like it or not, looks like Unsworth’s sticking with his formation so I’m pleased we’re signing players who fit the system

What a mess we’re in. That last night was pathetic and completely inexcusable. On the one hand I am glad that Unsworth is seeing what we all saw. On the other, it looks as though he hates the players as much as we do and knows they’re completely gutless and incapable which seems to be draining the enthusiasm out of him.
Realistically, half of this lot need binning off and replaced with some quality. That can’t happen overnight and will be tough even when January comes around. It needs time but I’m not sure we have time - relegation is a real possibility.
Unsworth has to take some responsibility too - performances have gotten worse, not better. He’s got a system he likes but doesn’t have the players to play it. 5-3-2 with full backs rather than wing backs and defensive midfielders is horrid. We aren’t just rubbish, we’re boring to watch and people will stop going to watch if it doesn’t improve quickly.
Not sure where we go from here or how we lift ourselves up for Saturday. It’s grim.

I can’t believe people still comment on Wheater. Of all the problems at the club his situation isn’t one of them.
I’ll have a listen later Dublin, cheers.
Of course it’s a problem. Even aside from our dreadful defensive record and the shoddy communication coming out of the club about it, it’s another example of the powers that be falling out with an experienced pro. It’s not THE problem but it’s certainly a problem.- 1

A really good podcast as always - thought your style of questioning/interviewing made the interview a really enjoyable listen.
The Wheater situation is farcical. On the one hand he’s just unfit but on the other hand he’s not going to play for the club again. I know it’s boring to be still talking about it, and it’s clearly not the major point in the interview, but these are exactly the kind of issues which will continue to negatively impact fans’ opinions of the regime.

I used to think There's only one thing worse than spouting an opinion based on ignorance and that's posting an opinion based on twitter. Thanks to you I now know there is a further level called 'spouting an ignorant opinion based on twitter and only receiving back up from BCD and Latics22'
Enjoy your party

Must be true then
The point was more how little Rangers fans seem to rate him. I’d been under the impression he was doing alright there (I seem to remember some decent Europa League reports) but evidently not. I doubt the fans would be reacting the same way to someone who they deem less expendable like Morelos. -
Rangers fans on Twitter don’t seem to think he’ll play for them again. Doesn’t seem to have had a look in this season and doesn’t sound as though they rate him particularly highly.
-
That was disastrous today. Anybody left supporting the current ownership and regime need their heads testing. We are heading down the swanny to non league and it’s bloody horrible to watch.

Pete Wild said in the radio Manc interview that they didn’t interfere during his second spell.
When discussing the 2019/20 season they made it clear to him that their intention was to appoint a head coach and for them to deal with recruitment.
He couldn’t work under those circumstances and left.
Why are some fans looking to paint him as a liar?
Exactly this.
Also this slagging off of his ex-employer stuff. I wasn’t at the meeting so can only go off what I’ve read but it doesn’t look to me that he’s purposefully slagged off AL yesterday at all. He was asked why he didn’t take the job and he gave his reasons - it wouldn’t be a Pete wild team due to him not having full autonomy. That’s just a fact.

Wilson x
Realistically thats 4 first team players needed if we are to be in any way competitive. I think an extra CM wouldn’t go amiss either.
7 days until the start of the season...

Similar to Midsblue, I’ve struggled to muster any real feelings about this whatsoever. I don’t suppose it matters really who’s in charge but at least now Lemsagam has got someone in the mould he wants at the helm. If it goes tits up, it’s completely on his head.
The new guy’s record looks less than brilliant even if you only look at length of tenure at his respective clubs but let’s face it, those of us that are still left are going to be there come August either way so we may as well get on with it and get behind him for now.
Roll on fixture release day next week!

Good to have Bradford - they're the team at #7 in our most played list (since the 85/86 season). Anyone want to guess at the top 6?
Give you a clue - we'll play 3 next season, and we played 2 others this (but won't next).
Tranmere, Notts C, Walsall, Leyton O, Swindon, Southend?
-
As above, shocked that there are people who have made you question whether running this is worth it or not.
For what it’s worth I’ve really enjoyed playing this year and am grateful for those who organise. I’m sure it’s a hell of a commitment.
A sad reflection of some of the behaviour on other areas of this board and as said above, anyone who’s abusive in any capacity should just be chucked out no question.

It has been flat inside BP for weeks. The Athleticos have got the toughest gig of the lot trying to gee up the crowd.
The football is soul destroying and frankly the games are boring. I’m really pleased we’re picking up the points required to move away from the drop zone and I hope that continues but, as others have said, I think there will be a real downturn in ticket sales next season if the quality on show doesn’t improve.
