  1. Chris Taylor gets a lot of undue stick from Latics fans. I know nothing of his attitude second time round but I do know that in his first stint, he was a consistent performer over a number of years who could have made a move to the championship sooner than he did. Without looking at the stats I’d suggest that no other player has come close to his total appearances for the club in modern times.

A legend, no but definitely deserves more recognition than he gets.

Going along with most of that still. Unbelievable display at Fulham and on Saturday. I still think he has had as many bad games as good games this season, but the way he has stepped up recently, helping the caretaker manager out, whilst still being out on the pitch, is an absolute credit to him as a person. I'd go as far as to say he's a legend now, certainly our biggest legend since Sheridan/Eyres...

He absolutely is as far as players in the modern era go. He’s led the team brilliantly since he’s been here and the way he conducts himself on and off the pitch is a credit. He’s a proper footballer and it’s glaringly obvious he’s played at a higher level despite his age. Must be fantastic got George to be lining up next to and learning from Clarke each week.

  3. A really disappointing way to bow out of the cup. We were second best all over the park in the first half and if it wasn’t for the heroics of Clarke and Iversen, the game would have been over by HT. Second half we came out and had a go at them.

I’ve not seen a replay of the penalty so don’t know whether it hit a hand or not. What I will ask is how can a lino give that from where he is and why did both officials give a corner before Doncaster players started protesting? It’s no coincidence that this is the same referee as at Rochdale last year in my opinion.

In terms of performances, Clarke was superb and my mom. Iversen matched everything thrown at him. Lang was our biggest threat followed by Nepo (what is he doing at left back?). Thought Hamer did ok too. Edmundson’s distribution was shocking and must surely improve if he’s to move up the leagues. Sylla and Branger both poor for the most part.

Considering the lack of quality in our squad, we battled well. However we need quality reinforcements before the window closes if we’re to have any chance at the play offs.

He could be right if we get Citeh, I know football doesn't work like this but they put 7 past Rovrum.

Yep, he’s not wrong. City are the one team we may as well write off if we drew. Liverpool’s first team obviously would be the same but they’d rest players and their second string isn’t as strong. Judging by the way Spurs dismantled Tranmere, they’d be another to avoid. Chelsea, Arsenal or United would be great though.

  5. Unfortunately for Gerrard I might have had some sympathy if he hadn’t been completely unprofessional on numerous occasions both on social media and to fans in person. ‘Go throw s*** at yourself’ was the retort to one fan wasn’t it?

He knows how to give plenty but can’t take any and we’re so much better off without him. Let him have his say... all I know is there’s a much better feel about the place now that him and certain others have left.
