  1. I've been in contact with Yates' agent in the past, think some of the reaction on Twitter has been a bit harsh - he appeared to me to be more connected than some of the current mocking Twitter folk seem to realise. But on what he's said today, ironically, given Sunday's game, the name that comes to my mind, which I think was mentioned a while ago - probably in jest, was Darren Ferguson.... He hasn't won titles though - but he has obviously got promoted from L1 with Peterborough a few times, and I think he won something at Wrexham in non-league??!
  2. Led to believe it's partly what you want to hear, it's certainly not Dowie being ruled out, but not as much (in print) as what previous HP drippings will have implied to some of you. In fairness, from what HP has said - talks between Corney and Dowie still haven't actually taken place. HP claimed it's been happening with other directors and staff. But let's see what's published, what the reaction is, and what happens....
  3. My piri piri has said I can reveal him once it's done.... I've got no problem with that. But in fairness, he revealed about Blitz turning up... And an MEN story tonight confirms Dowie back in the running. No quotes, suggesting an off the record chat. And the Chron has mentioned this too. And Worcester has also mentioned Redfearn, we'll see about that I guess... But as per story 'changing' four times... I corrected one or two miscommunications. But also in fairness to Tabasco, things change in football - do you not remember "Oldham have no interest in signing Ched Evans", or "Corney: I've had enough". And don't forget it's the club's preogorative to say - or not say - what they want before, ultimately, a decision and announcement is made. My own opinion is that if there was a chance of Redfearn, it would make sense to play it down.. And it would very much make sense to take time if he has become a possibility - as Corney has already said, "no rush". I await the outcome with interest, just like you lot. And for the record, I absolutely support the 100 Club HP campaign. They should do at HT raffle, with the winner earning a dinner date at Dowie's. Nice one.
  4. It's Redfearn v Dowie I'm hearing.... FIIIIGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTT! ;)
  5. Agree. Every commentary of a game you can hear it in the background. Would still sing it for us though obviously. Maybe we can go back to singing about Tits more frequently again :-)
  6. Nothing will happen until next week I'm told, but a new man is in the frame...........
  7. 'No decision on Dowie until next week now'... Read into that as you will... To be fair, it would have been pretty awkward for poor Deano on Sunday as ppl on here mentioned... Especially if Dowie had sparked a pitch invasion at full-time ;-)
  8. I meant hasn't travelled to whatever meeting/talks it was as he didn't feel too great apparently, not that he hasn't travelled over here at all. I'm going to limit updates now to prevent misunderstanding/miscommunication via me.
  9. Hearing Corney hasn't travelled due to illness, but Blitz met Dowie tonight and talks were 'positive'
  10. Latest from my source: Blitz and Corney now in the UK. Talks with Dowie and lawyers set to happen tonight...
  11. Followed this up - my bad: dinner thing with talks were last night, not on the night of the youth team's final
  12. Wonder if Barnsley might come knocking for Holden....? Hearing it was dinner with Dowie Tues night, and some club staff. It's all moving forward, with just Corney to arrive and confirm ahead of a potential appointment before Sat. Food predictions anyone...? I reckon pie, chips and beans, with a bottle of Stella. And then a desert of lemon posset topped with seven garnishes - citrus tutti-frutti, charred grapefruit and orange, a lime tuile, limoncello pistachio crumb, edible flowers, tarragon leaves and a lime air.
  13. I know it reads like an agent-speak story, but my source did say a few days ago that Holden was heading out the door...
  14. Source telling me it's all agreed from Dowie's end with the directors. It's just waiting on Corney's signature when he's back here in midweek. And he thinks Blitz might even be at the game on Sat...!
  15. No worries. Word I'm hearing is that Corney is back over here on Wednesday, so could be big news on Thursday/Friday...
  16. Lovely. You have a nice day too. Just passed on a message/claim and prompted a debate on....a forum. Apologies to anyone else who's offended :-)
  17. No reflection on me, I'm not just making it up. As I've said, I don't know if my source is reliable as only recently been in touch - but we'll find out shortly it appears...! So I'm as intrigued as you...!
  18. Sorry. Means main things agreed, just some clauses and the signature on the dotted line isn't there yet.
  19. Been told it's all tied up with Dowie... Deal almost agreed, should be this week. About to discover the credibility of this source in the next few days it seems...!! What are people's thoughts if it's true... Would it boost the attendance for Peterborough (if he's unveiled or at the game), or increase the mood over the summer...?
  20. Last summer someone drew up a really good design for the home kit that was a bit different... Or a return to the classic blue would be good. Has to be blue shorts too...
  21. The players want Holden to get the job? Really showed it today with their performance....
  22. Nothing like a terrible pun to put ppl in their plaice
  23. Interesting to see if anyone at the game today. Someone's told me a representative of Dowie will be at the match. It looks like it's between Holden and Dowie. I think if Yates was liked enough then he'd already have it. Dowie perhaps hasn't been fancied but has muscled back into the picture. Holden is clearly being backed by players (Danny P, Gerrard) and some staff - not always a good sign though...players loving it - despite an fairly uninspiring points tally, drab tactics, and awful set-piece defending that you'd like to think they'd be getting bollocked for. If that's not the way these days...whatever is being tried hasn't been working. I know he's not been in the job long, but look at how quickly Pulis, for example, can organise a shambles of a defensive back line..! My fear is of a similar, Dickov-type environment when ppl aren't angry and devastated when we lose. Instead they're all happy... I think you have to have that fire to get anywhere close to being play-off contenders.... If you're not hurt by losing or even drawing, then you'll keep doing it. I think there's something there, along with the just staying up is good for Oldham mentality, that points to our pants form against the bottom four. They've seen is as winnable foe and we haven't been able to summon the fight and determination to prove them wrong and out-battle them, never going to make the play-offs without that - and that's how it's proved. That's what's cost us this season.
  24. Dowie source of mine claims talks were held tonight in London with club directors...
  25. I did. Then look at my next post... I just over-interpreted what he'd told me - was written as more concrete than it actually was. Same source that told me he'd got the job for the rest of the season.......first. Different source re Dowie... There are a few things muddying the waters - some associates convinced Holden's the favourite, other rumours suggesting that he's leaving. Either way, we should find out next week!
