So to reduce fixture 'congestion' for the privileged few in Europe (who normally play their stiffs in rounds 3-5 any way) everyone else has to suffer.
Keep things as they are, they have 30 overpaid squads and 30-50 out on loan - they can easily suck up a replay or two.- 1

As i put on twitter when that ref was announced:
A very good chance for us to progress to the 5th rnd of the fa cup and the FA in their wisdom put a bloke in charge of the game who was almost lynched by one of our fans at Rochdale and it recieved wide media coverage..expect a Donny win with a pen and one of ours sent off. #oafc
Got the lottery numbers later ?

For me it Clarkey handled it thus a pen. Not going to over analyse it, people will have their own opinion
Thought that to begin with from the side, until you see the camera angle looking 'straight on' that you mustn't have seen yet. VAR would have wiped it on that.
-
Nope - hand was up but it was the head the made contact - lino 40 yards away had no chance of seeing this and shouldnt have got involved. You have VAR for all 4th round grounds or none, pathetic.

Unfortunately, Earl's clearance and Rick's 'equaliser' must be on the cutting room floor. The ref was Joe Worrall, who was always tagged as a ManU fan.

David Currie was never forgiven for not challenging Schmeichel for that 50/50 ball.
It was Currie that was denied.

1982/83 Crystal Palace
Courtesy of free tickets given to my primary school.
Rodger Wylde scored, Andy Goram saved a Vince Hilaire Penalty. A win I think.

The first season I watched latics we had to apply for re-election in the 4th division.
I have seen us rise to the premier league & nearly back.
The 4th division was a whole lot different in those days, double figure gates, free flowing football & goals. I don't want to see us back there because I can see us doing a Chesterfield with no re-election to save us.
I just hope that Wellens luckily gets it right for next Saturday then goes but I think that it will inevitably come down to what Charlton do.
Unlike last day salvation in 1999 and 2005 I don't see this being a game we will win, as you say Charlton's approach to the 'Dale game will be key.
The match between Scunny and Plymouth on Tuesday is vital for us as will dictate Charlton's needs.

Anybody with the correct stats, could they fix his page?
I'm sure he was a little more prolific than some wag has decided. :-)

If you dont mind the 15/20 walk from Accrington Town Centre to the ground - Grants Bar has it's own micro brewery

That'd have been The Oaklea Tavern, sadly it closed and now flats. Unless you fancy a 15/20 min walk into town it's the Crown (at ground) or The Greyhound (5 mins), both may not tick all the OP's boxes.

I was sure he did. Others disagree. I can't find a team sheet!
1. Hallworth 2. Irwin 3.Barlow 4.Henry 5.Barrett 6.Warhurst
7.Adams 8.Palmer 9.Marshall 10.Milligan 11.Holden R
12.Donachie (unused) 14.Rhodes (unused)
So big Joe did put a keeper on the bench for the 2nd leg for insurance in the days when you never normally named a keeper on your bench.
-
Palace away 95/96 I reckon it was - we came from 2 down - Hallworth came off the bench as a striker then had a clear header to win it but fluffed it.
-
Jon Hallworth had a go in a league match in the mid 90's I recall.

We took 6132 to the 5-1 at Anfield
I was in the main stand with my Liverpool pal - 6133 :-)
You 6132 were a sight to behold. Though I had to keep schtum when Robbie fired his rocket into the Kop goal.

Thanks Singe - there's my incognito status blown !

If I remember right, didn't Ormonroyd score a great looping header at Wolves? Think we won 1-0. It was near Christmas time I think.
Proof that for a golden week (cant find the city game) before Xmas 1996, that Ormondroyd was not :censored:.

Was at Molineux that day, bright moment in a miserable season.

One of my favourite away games was the win where GK saved a penalty. Cracking atmosphere and a great battling performance.
That'd be the Spring 1999 match, Gary Kelly with the save, Paul Reid an Dux with the goals. Orlygsson was like a man possessed.
Probably my favourite ever away win, our fans were incredible all match and ripped the Kippax fans to shreds with our chants and put downs. Big Joe copped for some too. To cap it off, there was also a male streaker, must have been a cold day as there was not a lot to see.
Other memories being held back after the final whistle for 15 mins but still being charged at by City fans when we left with some 'tics unfortunately floored, Police horses intervened and City fans then started punching the horses... class.
I then seemed to be the only Latic on one the Bus Specials back into town full of fuming City fans, recall having to adopt a fake Manc accent to survive the journey but loved every second of their whining.
-
Are we into the next round or what? I have no clue. Barmy competition.
If Carlisle let Fleetwood win, they both go through.
Why aren't final group games played at the same time, open to abuse. Shocking competition.

There was an offside in the build up to that equaliser, can't remember who it was now but under the old offside rule it should have been disallowed (and no amount of video evidence or contrary memories will ever convince me otherwise.)
I still remember being interviewed by GMR or piccadilly radio or someone outside Maine Rd before the replay and mentioning it then, surprisingly I was edited out
It was Bryan Robson plodding back with his zimmer frame that was offside, '94 rules could have easily chalked it off but he didn't really affect the passage of play so would have been harsh (funny mind) on United to give it. Was more miffed with Sharp's howler and big Joe for not putting Stitch on to kill the last minute.

Trying to remember why I didn't get a ticket for the Old Trafford game that season and I think it was because season ticket holders could either use their voucher for Anfield or Old Trafford is that right? I remember watching us at Anfield but I think we only got around 3000 for each fixture.
Secured Anfield tickets (my stub below !) after a 12 hour queue overnight on Sheepfoot Lane - We all took it in turns to go back to the cars for 1 hour kips .
There were even sofa's and armchairs in the queue ! The banter amongst the couple of thousand 'tics that night/morning was incredible - residents were probably fuming.
Seem to recall the OT allocation didn't sell out initially, so allowed Anfield attendees to quckly snap up, meaning I got to both.

Seen us beat 82 of the 92 in competitive games 86/92 inc friendlies
So still 10 of the 92 missing
Sheff Utd
Beating the Blades early in 91/92 stands out for me, we were 2-0 up in the first half - they had two men sent off before half time.
They lost another player towards the end of the game too injured. So finished with 8 men.
The final score? 2-1 and we were hanging on by our fingertips !
Typical Latics.
-
Be lovely if there was a youtube video of that!
There's finally a video of the West Ham / Notts Co match, shame it doesn't show any scenes after full time though.

If that was offside, Bryan Robson was a country mile offside against us with the old rules.
