...you are blinded by the low winter sun in the RRE.
Give me back the old uncovered lookers paddock any day.
-
Deserved nowt yesterday, however Kelly wasnt offside for our disallowed - Philliskirk was - linesman stuffed right up.

You can order it from the Chron Mick. Got a beautiful 16x12 framed version on the wall at home :-)

My OH got me it as a special birthday gift - 30" x 20" - about £35.00 - Pride of place in my dining room to the bafflement
of my kids.

Not surprisingly Question Time on BBC1 at the moment is dealing with the Ched Evans (highly-paid) issue.
Seemed to be a pro-Evans (albeit marginally) audience.....

Nobody wants to give the statement?
Type it up and throw it out of the window as a paper plane..... and run.
-
.....well that was worth waiting for from Mr Joy.

Ave attendance in 2006-07 was 6300ish.
Ave attendance in 2007-08 was 5300ish.
Lee hughes was signed in august 2007.
Nowt to do with Hughes.
In 06/07, we were pushing for promotion all season and were top going into March. We even had two matches pre Xmas with tickets
at £2 for all - hence 2 crowds of 12,000.
07/08 (with Hughes) saw the team sit in the bottom half for 90% of the season.

Remember being out thought by a 9 men Sheff Utd team at BP years ago, cant remember if we won the game or not but they give it a real good go.
We won 2-1, but they gave us the runaround for the entire second half with 9 men and even with 8 men for the final 5 minutes when an injured player went off.

former Anfield forward, Ryan Baubble.

The whole of the team for producing an excellent pantomime performance against MK Dons.
Where's the Genie when you need him?
Cant beat a good Stuffing at Xmas.

I can recall 7-0 wins , can't recall a 0-7.
1-7 to Cardiff , but that doesn't matter , the club was at it's lowest ever ebb and struggling to exist.
2-7 to Sheff U in ZDF , odd result , in a cup that did not matter as we were flying high elsewhere.
Lowest ebb? - We were 7th going into that match, spending money, on the edge of the playoffs and with only 8 games of the season left.
It was a crushing defeat against a promotion rival, but we showed Dowie's famous bouncebackability the season after to make the playoffs - then we hit the financial sh!t....
Southampton humped us recently at BP and lets just hope today was a hiccup against a team destined for a higher league.
-
Well that's my pre-Xmas cheer right out of the chuffing window.
Bah humbug.
-
..a rare clip from 96/97 finally surfaces.

Ambassador, you're spoiling us.

Was amazing on Championship Manager 01/02.
Appeared in over 600 games for Latics in my Championship Manager 97/98 campaign, six time Champions League winner.
Alas, this is a newer Tom Youngs.

Someone needs to give prozac a prod....
Probably have video footage of the substitutions themslves...

The high points of messrs Ormondroyd, Deirdre Barlow and Nicky Banger. From that season:
1-0 win away Wolves
3-0 away at Bradford
2-1 home win vs Citeh
.
Was at all three and felt for a while that 96/97 was an improvement on the year before, then a terrible winter/spring before a gut wrenching loss at Reading and here we still are 17 years on.

This would give all the data for the previous season.
I used to read these cover to cover before I met girls... !

Anfield, August 91 still the biggest buzz I've ever felt away from home - incredible support and excitement.
Plus queueing overnight with 2000 'tics for tickets adds to the memories.
-
I doubt that was the only occasion either thinking back to some of the displays we were treated to.
A good interview that. Always nice to be reminded of the win at Maine Road in 99 too.
Oh how we owned the Kippax that day, and big Joe - fantastic vocals.
Great read.

We can always pull out fans for one-off matches, but half of these are fans of City or United and just turning up with a mate.
I really dont think there is that many fans - who are Latics fans first - to tap into and would commit to coming back every week.
Twenty years of (mainly) dross, players sold for peanuts and squads ripped apart every season does not give lapsed fans ANY encouragement to return and back us. A win rate of 40% this season over 15 games isnt going to work.... yet.
The last time we spiked attendancies, Latics were beating the best teams in the land, City and United were abysmal and Sky Sports had not taken over and brainwashed the next generation of supporter into only following the PL. Plus hey, supporters (I know a few) have passed away.

Youve just put that Macarena song back in my head after blocking it out for years.
