  1. I really think that it's time to shelve the political side of things here.

Northern Ireland and all that's gone with it is woefully depressing and complex.

People have different feelings and thoughts on it - fair enough.

Can we not just move past that and get on with rowing about the one thing that has us all here in the first place - the football!

    +1

  2. Poleon is a quick striker.... Who needs a big lad alongside him to lay it off..., Winchester is a centre midfielder... Neither are wingers!!!

I'm not harking back to the Rick Holden, Neil Adams days... They are long gone. They game has changed, I appreciate that.

However, if Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, et al, have trouble playing 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, 4-1-1-2-3-4-2-3.... Or whatever ridiculous mathematical equation the UEFA ABC badge tells you is necessary, how on earth can we expect 3rd division footballers to cope?

Play 4-4-fookin-2 with 2 wingers, 2 centre mids, and 2 strikers! This means we have to sign some wingers....!!!

CM: two from; Kelly, Jones, Winchester, Woodland (if we keep him)

CF: two from Turner, Murphy, Bove, Poleon, Philliskirk

Put Forte on the left wing if he carries on....

....get shut of Mellor, Brown, Morgan-Smith, Brian Wilson and Lockwood (as a player at least)....

I do actually agree with your original point! But football 'trends' do influence people- currently the diamond thingy. Three of this seasons top sides:

Bristol city - pretty much 442 but not with 'traditional' wingers - big man small man up top - the best 2 footballing sides swindon and mkdons play...no idea! They seem to have extra players because of the fluidity, this can be exposed defensively but hell i would accept that.

These are the templates i would rather mimic than premiership trends.

  3. It's ridiculous to judge him.... It's not his team... Not his players... We're playing a convoluted 4-2-3-1 diamond formation... Which is a legacy of LJs players... We need a manager who will play 4-4-2 with 2 wingers..Deano might want that, we don't know.

The diamond formation isnt carved in stone- he could easily play 442 - two up top partnership - poleon and winchester as the supply and kelly and jones as the engine.
  4. I sympathise with holden to a point (injuries etc) but i'm tired of dull toothless negative garbage like this.....'standard' 2-0 defeats without a whimper - i would say that too many of this squad is using the recent changes as a big excuse to hide behind- they need a giant kick up the arse from someone with fresh ideas and a plan to change things when needed.

I dont actually care who the next manager is - im more concerned about the concerns i have mentioned

  5. Agree that murphy was hung out today - completley isolated against a couple of big lads - where was poleon, mellis, turner and wilkinson?

If its some sort of 'experiment' then its backfired - no spark today no pace no balance in team due to no left footers - pretty much a BOO for the whole day

Highlight was paul cook slowly losing his voice as the first half was playing - whispering loudly by the end but the fella has passion.

  6. Brown at left back was the only one not playing in his usual position.

I know - but now unless we use elokobi - we don't have any natural left footers in the side! - sounds a bit of a daft worry but that left side is going to get hammered due to that weakness
