Ref vs Rochdale : Tony Harrington
-
We need to put the ball in the box earlier - what tends to happen is we overpass back and forth when one good early ball would do - the forwards don't seem to anticipate because a lot of the time the pass just doesn't come.
-
Or a good swift kick in the balls...If you speak to the ticket office I gather, instead of a replacement ticket, you can get a poke in eye, if he'd prefer...

Hallelujah brother!?Is it just me? Am I showing my age? But am I the only one who is becoming totally bored these days by the tactics employed by a lot of teams? Barcelona were excellent at it - and still are - letting the opposition have the ball but defending really well. Then when they are in possession they pass the opposition to death and have the class in midfield and up front to make the possession count. We, on the other hand seem to do no more than play pointless passes between the defence and midfield but then as soon as it goes forward we lose possession. When Latics had their most successful spell under Big Joe we played a much simpler, more direct way. Milligan and Henry in the middle winning the ball, Adams and Holden on the wings, Bunn (or Marshall) and Ritchie up front and we had no problem at all scoring goals. Why can't we employ that formation and tactics again? The modern way is just boring when the class of player is incapable of pulling it off.

They'll probably replace him with that other weapon - steve Evans!
-
I think we already had 4 doing that! And still would have strolled into our midfield!
-
I suggest that this 'tiredness 'is actually 'mental tiredness' rather than physical - if the team was getting good results, I don't think that this excuse would keep rearing it's ugly head.
-
It became almost farcical - they were just falling over with ANY sort of contactSurprised he didn't give it since he gave a foul everytime someone fell over.
-
Pretty much my thoughts - probably the attacking players that were 'tired'Half the team were tired? So why play the same starting line up, then?
-
And by forward players -I don't just mean the 'strikers' - I mean the supposed attacking part of the team - so today would be same back 5 and green poss fane -rotate the rest...
-
Maybe all the forward players should be changed every game - the idea that they get better and more consistent with a run doesn't appear to apply to this lot.
And if winchester showed half as much passion on the pitch as he showed having his tantrum on the bench after getting subbed maybe he wouldn't have been there. .. same with ladapo -straight up the tunnel with a face like a slapped arse..
