Favourite Game (not the obvious one!)?
Maine Road, Away 1998/99 Season. 2-1. It was my sisters engagement party that night. Cracking atmosphere with about 30 Latics fans taking the pish out of the few City fans who'd bothered to turn up following the result. I wouldnt take my Latics shirt off all night.
All Time Greatest Player?
Oooo Roger Palmer. My dad tells me as a youngster, I didnt really watch the football much. Just jumped around shouting "Oooo Roger Palmer" in the stands.
Favourite Current Member?
Porter. Purely on the basis of his improvement from last season, and his style of play all together. You can tell he's worked hard at his games and it's paying off. Scoring for fun, and will be our first 20 goal a season striker in longer than I can remember. For that, I dont think I could give it anyone else.
Where will we finish?
Top 2 would be unbelievable. Playoffs would be a massive achievement. I'll stick with my original pre season theory of top 10 and I'll be delighted, anything else is just a bonus. It's times like this you have to enjoy, but not get too carried away
Biggest Rivals (in your eyes)?
Man C*ty. Living for 19 years on an estate which was virtually wall to wall City. I'd say it was 99% City, 1% Latics. The 1% being me. Means I f**kin hate the b**tards!
And Finally, You became a millionaire, Oldham were available to purchase, what would you do to make our club Secure for the future?
I'd probably swing a deal with the club that would allow me to buy 1,600 Concession Season Tickets for the Small Section of the Rocky Road End.
£50 a pop, or however much they are in the Lookers for Boundary Blues members, and distribute them to local children.
1600 x 50 is £80,000 or so in revenue the club wouldnt have seen. The club would make over the course of the season a big amount in merchandise, programmes, food and drink sales from the young whipper snappers.
Come the end of the season. If even 50 of those 1600 who've been to 23 home games come back the following season. It'll will have been a success.
That reminds me. I'd better start playing the Lottery :roll:
