I really don’t think McGahey is as bad as people say. Think this another classic case of Latics fans picking a player to direct their anger toward.
He is also the quickest defender we have.

Sounds to me like someone telling it as it is . But 5k dumbfucks dont want to listen or dont understand how bad the issues are .

You know the one thing that annoys me in all this is the players attitude . We have probaly have around a dozen players who will be quite content to sit around on their backsides doing cock all and probably not play for another season . I know they are within their rights . But some of these are young enough to move on and make a name elsewhere and play football which is what they want to do isnt it ? Or has football created a culture of lazy dont give a fck attention seeking players . Football is a short career why waste so much of it not playing . I actually wonder if some of these players actually want to play . They talk a good fight , some of them need to grow some and get on with it or get out.

If you've not seen Mellon post match he's effectively agreeing with 90% of what fans on here have been suggesting the past six months and that is 'YOU CAN'T POLISH A TURD".
Totally agree with you . He has known for a while, but his hands have been tied because he needed a tune out of them . He needs the backing of the board and fans to get rid of whoever he deems not fit .

Few people have mentioned Reid recently . Lets get it right he wasnt doing much when he was in favour and has a history of flatering to decieve . I think his level is middle to bottom of this league or the league below, as with quite a number of other players we have . He was fully aware of the consequencies of his actions . Hopefully someone else wants him along with the other 18 we need gone.

Same faults that we have had for a while too many square pegs in round holes, and too many players who cant play two games a week. A squad hat has a lack of balance in key areas. Pretty obvious the right players were not available in the last transfer window . Lets see what he does with a full pre season .

Ha ha lol should have been Norwood 3 lol.

No but Norwood missed a pen.

I am going to post this against my better judgement, do I think it will happen not really. But I hope so . I actually dreamt we stuffed Flyde 6-0 Norwood 4 , Conlon,Raglan, Fondop . Yes i have pretty detailed dreams occaisionally which have come true in the past . Not many as far retched as this lol . But I thought I would post this .

I think you may have misjudged the quality of league 2 strike forces especially at the lower end. Chesterfield will be amongst the favourites for promotion again next season and that will be justified. They are not going to struggle even if they don't add anyone, which won't be the case.
So are you saying league 2 strike forces are worse than national league strike forces . It was an off the cuff comment by me regarding the recent defending . The fact of he matter is though as I said defend like they have recently and they will struggle . Do i expect them to keep the same defence no . Paul Cook is a good manager and will know who to get rid off.

Chesterfield are 30 points clear of us and have effectively eased up as it's in the bag, they'll do just fine in League 2 next season as teams do who go up out of the NL, if anyone thinks they'll come straight down we'd better give it a swerve with the squad we've got.
The point i was trying to make is in the last 8 games Chesterfield have conceded 18 goals whilst scoring 19 . We should have been four up at half time Saturday . Halifax should have been more comfortable last night at least another goal to the good possibly 2 . Defend like that next season against better teams and they will be relegated . But I expect them to bolster most of that defence . Not sure why you brought our squad in to it as ours will be totally different next season too.
-
Palmer is not that good and wouldnt get in our team , They will be straight back down with that defence . We should have been 4-0 up on Saturday at half time .

England C - Tom Conlon subbed at the start of the second half
Thought the lad Reece Williams left winger from Maidenhead looked good .

Well I guess it was a bigger tune than I remember . I also would have said Rock the Casbah was bigger, just shows how the sands of time erode your memory.Great band though .

it's a slow Monday afternoon so.... When I went for an interview for a job in NatWest at the Greenfield branch in 1980 the manager asked if I'd be interested in working for the bank in London. I got back in the car afterwards, flicked the radio on and the first track on was London Calling. The rest is history.
Pretty obscure track by the clash called 'Bankrobber' . Just wondering like lol

not been able to attend games recently due to sudden illness and still quite week. Missed the last 2 home games and could see the floodlights from the corridor of Oldham Royal Hospital!!
If I am not strong enough to go to the Chesterfield game at least I can now watch it on National League stream
Get well soon mate.

Weird league only Chesterfield and Bromley lost fewer games than us .

Watched the match back, how bad was Hogan, shameful for the second goal and gave up at times. Looks like he was sulking to me.
Probably been told he wont be kept on next year .

This board cracks me up some times. Fighting over which players are the most shit, listing the shit flaws of players, pitch is shit, attendances are shit, formation is shit, playing 10 centre backs is shit, don’t play young players which is shit apart from ones who do get picked but are shit, manager’s playing style is shit.
A latics fan coming out of a 5 year coma reading this board would be forgiven for thinking the lemsagams are still in charge and we’re 4 points from safety. As opposed to being owned by local people who are investing heavily in the team and the future and it looking more than likely we’ll have our first play off finish in 17 years!
Thats why we cant buy a win at home , negativity spreads

Atherton is ready to start, he's no shrinking violet and despite being able to run at defenders, cross the ball and shoot on sight
his tackling back is tremendous.
I don't know why MM won't play him as in training he will be just the same. If he can take Manchester United u21s apart and score against them Kidderminster will hold no fears.
An 11, 000 crowd urging him on will be perfect.
BP I am taking your word on this and your previous good judgement . I totally agreed with you on James Berry . But I have only seen clips of Atherton as good as they are its always a gamble . I wonder if he is any relation to Michael?

I played in the same team as Paul Hopkinson at Royton & Crompton school. Paul was in the year below me and Steve Taylor was in the year above.
Same mate, we must have been in the same year .
