  1. Simple answer is we dont have the players to play much differently away from home at present . And to be fair I think its unrealistic to expect us to wipe the floor in a league that contains another 11 former EFL teams . I think we need to find our identity which will come with the addition of the right players . Then I can see us dominating more, and certainly having more of and keeping the ball for much longer periods than we currently are doing.

  2. Ward is a good player for me, although yarddog has already written him off weeks ago based on training games. Which I think is harsh but thats why we are here its all about opinions. Reid for me today flattered to decieve given his chance yes he scored , but he doesnt do enough of the dirty work . Was a great finish but that starting pairing does not work. Can see why Reid has had a few clubs , think he is a difficult player to find a system and partners that work with him. Maybe we should use him as a winger. He has only ever hit double figures for a season once in his career . Apart from Norwood  you could describe our so called striking riches as being over rated . Probably a bit harsh also, but at the end of the day as Thommo said we need to find a playing identity.  And we need to add players to fit with that, and one of them is most certainly a midfielder along with a fit right back. And develop a system that suits the players , whoever gets the job will have to make some tough decisions . Can see a few leaving to be honest depending on who gets it .

Thought I’d try and watch Shelton closely today and for me he wasn’t anywhere near as bad as is being made out.

He and the team started well and he was getting on the ball and looking forward more than he had done. Then the team was pushed back and everyone struggled to get forward after that.

2nd half he played further forward in a 4231 it looked like. Dickenson and Sheron behind him, Green and Willoughby with Reid up top. We looked better but no one getting on the ball.

He gets stick for tackling and stuff but I don’t think that’s his game. Seems like a lot are writing him off but I I think there’s a player in there somewhere but he’s low on confidence and I’m not sure we play the ball well enough through the midfield to suit him. We’re very slow on the ball, maybe he does better in a quick passing team?

Wasn’t the worst and I don’t think he warrants being singled out. Sutton, Sheron, Green and Willoughby all off the pace today.

I honestly believe that Shelton will turn out to be a good player for us and will be one of the ones who will benefit from midfield reinforcements. Wouldnt mind betting he has some of the best match stats mileage wise .

  4. Same problems exist : no midfielder capable of stamping his authority on the game and controlling possesion , we need a midfielder with these qualities to blend with the existing midfielders. Also another glarringly obvious point is we still desperatley need a right back . Everything is coming at Will Sutton and he struggles to cope  He will be a great CB eventually , he has a great attitude and shows lots of desire. But he aint a RB, he gets caught out of position so much it gives the opposition so much of a lift. Some would say he was to blame for the equalizer on Tuesday night . But you cant fault the lads effort he is just being played out of position. Board needs to act this week to appoint a manager so these problems can be addressed . Dont even know who is in the hat apart from Thommo, personally I would prefer him to get the job. Although I think Mellon would also be a good choice if he is interested.

  5. To be totally honest with you . I wasnt really an Unsworth in person. But felt that he needed a chance when he had a balanced fully fit squad to pick from. I am sick of us having new managers every 3 months , the fact that he is the longest serving manager for quite a while says it all. What I dont like is the personel abuse he and some players get no one deserves that . Ou fans are notoriously fickle and change with the wind . That said they pay there money and are entitled to their opinion quite rightly just like me. But keep it civil , there are some amongst us who have just got used to stirring the shit and whipping up hysteria amongst the easily influenced. The one thing that worries me and I said this a few months back . I hope Frank doesnt get pissed off and walks away.

Anyways after today I think thats the end of the road . Its obvious that they wouldnt let him sign any midfielders the last two weeks, or another right back. We started brightly today but looked toothless, didnt move the ball quick enough in the final third .Green struggled to get in to the game because of this, in which was probably his worst game for us. Kitchen had a poor game , Hobson was good again, Hogan was ok. Sutton shouldnt be playing full back but he at least showed some desire .Oddly and some people wil hate this I thought Shelton did ok with little support . Midfield has been our downfall for over a year and the right back spot. Who ever is our manager needs to solve these issues now if we are to recover from what is now turning into a nightmare start.

Unsworth is to blame for the 4 strikers on the bench. No need, shows he has no plan on changes.

They where the only fit players we had apart from Norman /understand Tollit may possibly  have been in talks . The time to judge him is when he has been able to field a settled  team with his strongest midfield. He hasnt been able to do that yet. And besides that we/he still needs and wants 2/3 more players possibly more depending on departures . Wouldnt be suprised to see a new a new right back Sutton is a fine prospect at CB but he is a liabilty at right back .Thought Ward looked promising and can see what he will add to a full strength midfield with more game time under his belt .

Well at least he's got an easy one on Saturday. Even Unsworth  can't fail with that one .

Bet Hartlepool thought the same on Saturday and Boreham Wood before them. Or maybe you are setting youreself up for a told you so on Saturday. Cant believe some of the comments on here its laughable never knew we had so many moronic fans .

Ignoring any of the other issues, the purpose of going to the football is to be entertained.

Can anyone honestly say they're getting that from DU football?

TNT said it was a very entertaining game . Is entertainment more important than results . We are all different some want a win at all costs ,whilst some people  demand champagne football. Gateshead made me laugh, imagine trying to play that stupid Kewellsque out from the back crap in front of 8k at BP. TNT soon stopped spouting how good the keeper was on the ball after he had made a few errors. We had obviously done our homework  on them . Thought Hobson was excellent, and Green , Never a red card on Shelton , Sutton will be a good player for us eventually but he is no full back and cost us the second goal. Think we are still lacking in midfield . But overall unluck not to come away with all three points.

They only won nine out of twenty three home games last season and have already lost once there this season, so plenty of teams seem to ‘get a point’ there.

Only two teams lost fewer games than Boreham wood last season guess who?   Genius!!  Wrexham and Notts . Oh and guess what we got f all there last year . So thats improvement if you are anybody else but Dave Unsworth. Some people need to go and support tippy tappy city.

  10. Good point away from home again . Not many teams will get a point there, Wrexham and Notts managed it last season but failed to keep a clean sheet. These finished 6th last season so to call them a pub team is really disrespectful . Some comments on here laughable and smack of people who didnt see the game (I did again)  just taking other peoples comments and adding to it. Would have taken a point at Chesterfied and today before a ball was kicked . This leagues going to be a lot tighter than last year by the looks.
