Yeah, more often than not it comes down to money. Obviously some have different motivations than others but in football it’s usually the case that money talks. 

I’m not sure where I read this, I think it was an Alty fan group last year as I joined to get a bit more info on Lundstram. A couple of apparent ITK lads at Alty said that Lundstram didn’t really want to leave them but we offered £600 a week more so he couldn’t really turn it down. An extra 2.5k a month on anyones wage (except like championship and above level) is fairly life changing money even at our level. 

Our first signing last season was Josh Lundstram on 6th June. 
 

Wonder when the first will be this year, assume similar. Can’t see much happening in May?

TBH this year I’m as intrigued about new signings as I am shipping some out!

Best case I can see- is if another club will pay a portion of what he earns here and we give him the rest as a pay off. But I can’t see there being the budget for that - if MM is to believed. 

You see all season I’ve been saying no chance he’ll go, I even did a paragraph on here basically telling people they are wrong suggesting that he’ll go . 

I’ve completely changed my mind now though, feel like he’s really soured on us (even more so than he already had). Rumours he’s done something and been told he can go. Back end of the season just felt like this was the last we would see of him. Be stunned if he’s not being touted out but yeah, his wages will be the issue. 
 

Reckon Salford could/would pay it. If he really hates it he might take a small pay cut to leave.

Throw the money at Wigan for Stones. The month he played for Oldham this season is the first time I’ve thought we look a good team in about 7 years. Get him in.

The RB at Fylde who is out of contract is in a lot of peoples/places team of the season for the NL. Must be worth a look

Even with this fag packet guessing it’s not difficult to see how difficult it’s going to be in the summer. 

Reckon Mikey and Green might be on a bit more. Mikey signed a new contract last season probably with a decent pay rise and Green was offered a deal to extend last summer on more money (you would assume).
 

Still though your point stands - can’t see them lot saving any more than 9/10k ish a week. 

It’s shifting a few of the 2025 lot that will free up some wages. I could see us paying Reid off next week or coming to some kind of deal. I think a team will take a chance on Willoughby. Rumour is Chester are keen for a perm move.

I think the playing staff wage bill is around 2m isn’t it?

I believe the budget was 1.7m but has increased as the season went on. 
 

There’s no way our wage bill was/is 30k a week for 30+ senior players.

I imagine we’re paying majority of Dallas’ wage, between him Norwood Nuttall and Garner there’s probably 12-13k a week there alone

Don’t shoot the messenger but a Tranmere fan who’s very ITK their side who I’m pally with reckons we are well in for 2 of their players and may have deals agreed in principle already for summer.
