Hasn''t made much of an impression until lately, but looks the sort of player who can find space and pick a pass to open up defences. With willing runners around him he may have found his role in this team.

A good striker of the ball too so might chip in with a few goals.

Credit to the lad for overcoming a difficult transitional period and the chaos of last season.

Agree with all of this to be honest BP.

Think the assessment of him being good enough for top end league 1 is a bit quick, he's only played a few minutes here and there up until recently, but does look very neat and tidy so far.

Tried a couple of wonderful passes in the past few games, 1 against Lincoln in particular which almost came off. I think with a bit more match Sharpness from Surridge and Maouche himself and they will start coming off.

He seems Very positive though which is good to see, tries to make things happen.

  2. Looked a bad one, injuries where the player goes down after no contact tend to be the worst...

Looked awkward when he did it and immediately though ligaments.

Hope he recovers, in truth I think that's it for him in a latics shirt. I was always Pro Gardner so I hope he stays but personally can't see it.

Wish luck to him wherever he ends up to be honest, worked his bollocks off in a latics shirt and always wanted to drive us on. Always remember the pompey loss in the snow...he was the only latics player out there trying to win, the rest at 0-1 in the horrific conditions wanted to go home and get in bed!

  3. Can easily see why Lincoln are up there, probably the best side I've seen this season, them or FGR.

Seen a lot of talk on twitter about their style of play but it's not aimless hoofing, it's going long to a Tall, fast striker who had the beating of both our CB's, there's a difference. Very organised too with real pace out wide, they will go up in the automatics .

All in all though, A very good point and we almost nicked all 3 at the end. Can't fault the lads effort at all, worked their socks off. If we can just be that tad more ruthless in front of goal we should start climbing the league.

A decent following that considering the shite we have been serving up this season

Valid response, I still thought we'd sell out despite being shite. Especially after back to back wins (albeit first half last saturday was atrocious).

Lang and Surridge should have field days against their 39 year old Heffer at the back, though I'm hearing he's been a world beater for them this season. Surely Lang and Surridge have enough to run rings around him!?

1-3 The blues, Norwood will score.

Its a brilliant turnout...we are mid table,  have been generally pretty poor and it’s a 100 mile round trip, what the hell did you expect!!

Think I said in my post I expected a sell out.

Them and Huddersfield where the 'tasty' match for many years.

It is a good turn out don't get me wrong, but 1500 isn't many for what a lot would consider to be one of our biggest/most consistent recent rivals. I'm basing this off our tremendous record too, taking almost 1k to FGR al be it first away of the season.

When it was initially announced 1500 tickets there was nothing but talk of additional tickets and 'home enders'. I think people are kidding themselves if you didn't think this one would be a fairly comfortable sell out

That was absolutely shambolic from the management. I can’t take anything away from the players, they are doing ok for what they are being dealt... apart from Gardner... he’s a fraud.

May as well not play with any midfielders at all, especially away.

Thought Iverson, Clarke, edmundson, hunt and Missilou were outstanding. Gardner and the forwards were embarrassing. Long ball after long ball which comes straight back at us and we are under constant pressure. We only ever create anything once Baxter comes on... START HIM. O Grady is painful to watch sometimes but he’s alright with Surridge next to him,  not another big lump like miller. Taylor struggled but he always does when Nepo isn’t in front of him.

When surridge isn’t fit, he must start Lang up front with o Grady and he must find a shape to play Baxter in too.

Its alright saying we don’t concede and we are unbeaten away but we don’t even try and win a game, we were time wasting from the 20th minute tonight... if we actually attacked then we would be a lot higher than 8th cause this league is absolute shocking. And we aren’t exactly tearing it up at home.

Team selection and tactics are a huge problem and he’s in danger of things turning sour very quickly.

Dont even lie and say you try and win games either... cause you don’t.

Only part I disagree on is Gardner but this is spot on otherwise.

This league is fucking atrocious, we should be going all out to win every game.

Give me a win at Swindon and a loss at mansfield anyday meaning 3 points rather than 2, over 2 boring draws where we are CLEARLY playing NOT to lose rather than playing to win.

Go for the fucking win! I’ve stook up for COG and Bunn but christ this league is terrible have a go!!!!

  7. We probably use Pyro more than any team in the country, doesn’t surprise me now.

Most teams may have 1 or 2 smoke bombs for their big deby matches with 2-4000 followings. We have had pyro at home to Crawley this season for goodness sake lol.

grimsby too was mad, there must have been 4 or 5 in only an 800 following.

I remember a couple of years back, after Bury away when it was all popping off at the bottlm between police and Oldham fans when we where all packed in the 1 end that kind of bends round...the week after I went to Doncaster away with probably 4-500 latics and the police presence was insane. They literally surrounded us completely in the corner and boxed us in.

Carlisle tend to be OTT too however both times i’ve heard its been due to Police dog training...seems odd both times against us but who knows

This is a tough league with some big physical players.  IMO O'Grady or Miller with Lang or Surridge is going to be the best option for most games in this league.  It gives some presence up front and has got us into the playoff postions. I think there is more to come with a fully fit Baxter and Dummigan but no need to change things too much at this stage.  It's a long season and they will all get their chance but for me its as you were for now.

    0-3, we'll shit em.

And I agree with Whitts, O'grady is the scapegoat at the minute yet people seem to forget when he went off as a sub against Newport and we had all of the attacking players that people want to see start, we looked MUCH worse and had 0 presence up front. Then he got 2 assists at Grimsby.

We scored a couple after he went off against Colchester but to be fair we battered them most of the game.

I'm not his biggest fan and to be honest I think Miller is a better 'football' player but he's done well the past few games O'Grady.

‘Life draining’ may be a step too far but I did find the morecambe hoofball performance rather depressing. The newport Football was better, but the result was a reyt shitter.

Agree with that. Morecambe result aside the performance was shite. Like you say against Newport we played some nice stuff just couldn't stick 1 away.

If we can score while playing decent stuff that would be good lads :) if not, I'll take the shite performances but 1 and 2-0 wins lol...

    Nepo in for Coke.

    Baxter in for Missilou

    Cotterill in for Branger

    Clarke in for Edmundson.

Doubt Dummigan or Taylor will be fit.

Would love another striker in but again can't see it.

Would also like to see Jack Byrne play but again I can't see it.

As someone stated on Saturday they had 5 of our cast offs playing in their starting eleven, it's a game we should be winning.

The 4-1 win at Grimsby was no mean feat however and it will be a very tough game.

Realistically I want to win but with foresight and realism a point here and then following up with a win against Macclesfield wouldn't be a bad start. All depends how many changes we are able to make for me.

Wouldn't be dropping Missilou - he was V good on Saturday, surely we can fit Baxter in elsewhere.

Agree Nepo in for Coke, him or Cotterill.

Would keep Johan in, he can go past players for fun but does try one too many tricks@times.

Dummigan and Taylor out for a while it seems which is a shame.

If we keep Hunt he needs a kick up the arse, first half he was atrocious against Dons.

Clarke in at the back, need some experience back there.

    Don't even let O grady travel...absolutely garbage he was/is.

Split people’s opinion I think JP. For me his ability to collect a cross has been one of the best we have seen at BP for years. Really took pressure off the back four something I hope iverson can do.

Would of liked to have seen him play this season as I don’t think he was the same after his bereavement. Believe he was on approx £4K a week with living expenses so another big wage gone.

4k a week makes more sense!

  12. Decent for a month or two, I know people mentioned he changed after his mum died which is a horrible experience and thankfully not something I have had to endure as of yet but he wasn't great let's be honest and I can understand that being a reason for a while but he was shite even the last few weeks of the season.

Likeable person it seemed but not up to scratch.

Was it true he was earning 16k a week? I know that seems MADNESS but that was a rumour going round last year. People laughed at Queensy's rumoured 11k a week wage till the article came out.

Wonder if Gerrards announcement will be this afternoon too.
