Didn't have much luck tonight, you get those games now and again  though.

No one played badly, with Dummigan, Fane and Gerrard the stand outs for me

Not sure what's happening with Byrne, legs seem to have gone again in the 2nd half.

Is he trying to do too much and running out of steam?

Don't know why he has to take every set piece either.

A good  player no doubt about it, but perhaps he needs to pace his game better - which may come with experience.

Was saying to my dad Nepo should try taking some of the set pieces, especially Corners on the Right side, the lad can whip a ball in

The gap between League 1 and League 2 really isn't that great, Chesterfield and Port Vale are proof of that, Carlisle are a fair team at home against most and there's no such things as gimme's especially if one or two players don't turn up.

The gap isn't big but Carlisle where absolute garbage. 1st and 3rd Goal where terrible defending, 2nd just a great shot from the lad.

Their overall play was atrocious, hoof it up the line, literally EVERY time. I bet they didn't have a move with more than 5 or 6 passes yet went 3-0 up!

  3. Dummigan was a major attacking threat all game. Him and Bryan our best players easily. Bryan looks a cracking player at centre half.

Clarke had a mare - I honestly don't know what we do about the defence. Wilson is solid but Clarke is better plus chips in with goals.

Kean is and has been great since going centre half.

Dummigan attacking wise is fantastic but maybe needs to stop crosses more? Same with hunt. Hunt is solid but the problem of shipping 3 and 4 every week is worrying.

The football is entertaining and let's be honest, we battered Carlisle, they barely touched it at times. We must have crossed into their box 30 times and it was cleared. They just hoofed it. We are a far better team yet went 3-0 down...as odd a that sounds.

Green is a sideways crab and I've been one of his biggest critics but some fans couldn't wait to get on his back. I didn't want us to re-sign but didn't think he was terrible.

Byrne a huge miss. EVERYTHING goes through him. When Fane wins it and needs someone to do the rest...that someone wasn't there. Gardners decent but can't do it all on his own in the midfield and often tries one too many turns.

Davies and Doyle weren't up to it today, Holloway made an impact.

Stick 2nd string out against Newcastle (know we must keep a few) then rest up and we have to be looking at 6 points v Rochdale and Wimbledon if we think we're a decent team.

If he'd had put it in the stand and a goal resulted from the throw in he would have got stick from some for panicking.

It was a split second decision, some go right some go wrong.

It's still my opinion a lucky bounce aided Scunthorpe.

What would have been said if Dummigan's clearance had ricoched to one of our players who scored the winner?

This for me. Nothing against Dummigan at all. I would rather him go and get Stuck in in a 50/50, Right decision at the time for me. It's all if's and buts however like you say, what if they score from an unnecessary throw in due to panicking? or if he just backed off and let their player collect the ball and deliver a ball in for a potential goal?

We where just unlucky that 1 of our players got stuck in in a 50/50 and it went straight to a Scunthorpe player.

  5. I always thought the players where meant to get paid on the 31st?

Maybe a day late it seems? Gerrards tweet indicates it has happened again this month but would like to think Mike has checked properly with the club.

The bollocks about half hour on Saturday would be before payday anyway right?

And weren't we only just paid before Blackburn? Yet played the highest budgeted team in the league off the park for most of the game.

This will happen until the take over, especially if it's true about some of the wages of the new lads...

FWIW Alan Nixon who's normally a sarcastic pain on Twitter when it comes to questions about the take over, seemed to say yesterday it is actually close this time...

    Understandably flat today.

Could have stolen a point at the end and it would have been a steal.

We lost our whole shape today without our sweeper.

The gap between Placide and Ruddy is enormous although Dummy should have been picking up the loose man at the back for their first.

Having said that, Ruddy s save from the first shot should have been pushed around the post at the very least.

Not sure I agree with the steal comment. Other than the the frst 20, scunny where a semi decent side, nothing more. Couple of good midfielders.

we hammered them second half. On another day Doyle scores 3 or 4.

  7. Watched on iFollow last night as was sick as a dog but my god I jumped out of bed when AAH scored!

Kean Bryan MOTM all day long for me, great performance from him and appears to have settled well at CB.

Can't fault Dummigan at all - form much better now he's actually being played in his position plus several times a game he's left with 2 men due to Byrne's free role, so to call him out on that is bonkers, if anything he's over achieving defending well against 2.

like others have said, have to say we are looking leggy. Get scunny done then on tues rest as many key players as possible.  With the pressing game we are trying to play it was bound to happen and you can certainly see us tiring quicker. Have a good days rest today lads, couple of light training sessions then onto Scunthorpe who aren't a bad side at all

Heavy rain forecast for 7pm, will this have an affect on the attendance I wonder?

I've got a season ticket, I'm sick as a dog...Weather supposed to be shite, Could watch on iFollow but with the way we are playing at the minute...I think I'll be there!!

    We brought Abdallah's players on.

Rotherham where hammering us even before the subs but couldn't finish,  once they found the net we completely gave up

Tope did piss all except miss a sitter all match anyway. Subbing Gardner was strange though, was having a decent game.

  10. Nothing wrong with Davies. Played well today, got a goal and held it up well when he needed too

3 at the back after recent weeks is a fucking shambles. Change to 4 and we don't concede as much as we do, do we suddenly become a promotion chasing team? No i doubt it but 3 at the back with Clarke and Gerrard will never work.

Im sorry but Edmundsons toss as well. How long is Stott out for? Stott all day for me.

thought we where decent first half and should have gone in ahead to be honest. That second half showing is up there with the worst i've seen.

Shezza to go for me though i'm afraid. Not learnt from any mistakes this season and if it was anyone he'd be being lynched now.

  11. First half we weren't bad and should have gone in winning. Tope has to score his chance.

Cant say this every week though, and second half, it could have been 8. Before they started scoring every 2 minutes they missed 4/5 sitters. Truly shocking defending and in part Its down to 352. Its not working and hasn't been working.

He has to go for me

  12. Byrne is a wonderful player, he would walk into Shrews' midfield, Wigan must have some midfield if he can't get in.

Their number 12 is a very good player at this level, thought the same last year. They knocked it about well but lets be honest, we created a LOT of chances never mind several good ones too from corners. We should have won, I believe we would have had Doyle (class player at this level) scored. He had to score that though, it seemed clear from there we would be punished.

3-5-2 while seems to be allowing us to play some cracking football in midfield is the problem. The keeper doesn't seem up to it, can't kick, flaps at crosses etc but the system will not work with Clarke and Gerrard. Like someone pointed out they are dragged wide and there is soooooo much space. It needs to be addressed

I don't think we should sack Shezza however I think its coming, i think he knows too. The home form must be addressed.

Still, some of the football today was a joy to watch and had Doyle scored, we would have won. Byrne again, what a player, Someone said earlier it was his poorest game? Top of the league Shrews couldn't get near him all game. MUST be signed on a long deal in Jan

Ben Wilson is crap, id terminate his loan tomorrow, beat at his near post for the second, dodgy positioning for the third and slow to narrow the angle for the fourth.

Brian Wilson isn't having a good season. Mr reliable last season but constantly gets caught out this (tbf to him he never gets support in front of him).

Gerrard and Clarke - either of them could be dropped, but Clarke is the better player. We could get away with experienced older players at the back of last season on our cabbage patch but 3 old and slow defenders on a decent pitch is killing us! Need dummigan and Edmunson in there.

Banks should never wear the shirt again.

Plenty of positives today. New players did well, although a little unfit. Gardner and hunt did well. Doyle looks class and will score goals and I was also impressed with Davies today.

Fane was very unlucky and was playing well up until the red. Think he could do well in that midfield, win the ball with energy and give it to the creators. McLaughlin to come back in and I think we will start picking up some points!

Not even guna go there with the ref. Cost us and ruined the game.

Sheridan needs to get his team selections and tactics spot on, we can't keep giving teams a two goal head start in the first 20 minutes.

Pretty much this for me. Keeper is garbage and needs to be replaced, brian wilson as I said on twitter was Mr reliable but is simply getting beat constantly by younger faster players and its concerning. Dummigan in truth hasn't looked good at all but he does have some pace at least.

Agree about the centre backs too Though Clarke is a much better player overall so I would drop Gerrard for Stott when fit and play Hunt Stott Clarke Dummigan. Maybe Edmundson but I think with Clarke next to him Stott could slot in at centre back.

We looked so much better once Banks had gone off. He's shocking, needs to never play again. Once he went off and we went 442 we actually looked a pretty good side. All of the new lads looked good and Doyle up front was fantastic.

Better things to come, leave banks out of the 11, Mclaughlin to come in, couple changes at the back and I think we'll be okay
