  1. A Jag with registration plate GK4. I wondered if it belonged to our Shot Stopper Supreme? Then I saw a Disabled sticker in the window. Not sure if he has arthritis or glaucoma? maybe both. Can't remeber a Latics player ever making so many routine naff mistakes? Loan for next week please DP. Was it DP that brought Jan Budtz to the Football League?
  2. Agreed. Thought he linked up with Taylor really well. His overlap letting Tayls come inside. Lomax is steady at right back and no worse than :censored: or Holdsworth. Not convinced by Furman and Whitts in midfiled together- too lightweight and likely to get overrun by more physical teams. Whitts is the best long range shooter we have had since Eyresy. Why does he never take free kicks? Still not good enough for play offs. Should be ok for mid table
  3. We have sold him to the highest bidder for his services. It is common knowledge he was for sale and nobody wanted to give us £1m. Ignore the Delph fee. Fees paid by Premiership clubs bear no relation to what a lower level Championship team can afford. I am sure if they could have got more from him TTA would have. The Eardley fee reduces the amount of their own money that they have to use to fund our losses.
  4. If we had no intention of signing him, why play him in pre-seaon friendlies? Surely that time coud have been used to look at real trialists. Hughes trained with us, but wasn't used in friendlies. Of course we looked at him with a view to signing him. We thought we could get him on the cheap, but clearly he has another option. When that cropped up and we were not offering what he wanted he said thanks and left.
  5. With him playing for NI, signing him would prevent us having to play under strength on international weekends. We could also use the truly great "Itsy witsy teeny weeney baldy headed Warren Feeney" chant.
  6. No wonder Notts County and Kidderminster are so desparate to sign him up!
  7. In the last ten years Porter and Wijnhard were both a class above Hughes. Both scored goals and contributed to team play. As a goal scorer Beckett was at least as good Hughes, without the baggage. To class him above Eyresy, Shez, Murray, Fitz, Lee Grant, Wellens,Taylor is a strange one. He had one very good spell of four months in two seasons at the club. Even Killen managed a similar run of form. Hughesy's record of 51 starts out of 96 possible is pretty similar to Killen too.
  8. A player (that we released due to having a bad attitude and drinking culture) invited back to the club, by the new manager for pre-season training, to keep himself fit waiting for a new club to offer him a contract? If he was as bad as he was portrayed at the end of last seaon we are mad. If not, sign him up. Like Greegs, he is far better than any replacement I have seen us linked with. (Clarke included). If Abbott could score goals playing next to Facey, he must be awesome.
  9. The ManUre side that beat us 6-3 on Boxing Day. Kanchelskis and Giggs unstoppable. Even Denis Irwin scored twice. I fancy they might even have beaten Bristol City that day.
  10. To compete for Schmeichel to be third choice behind Given and Hart? Not the greatest career move. That is straight from the Bugby School of Journalism.
  11. More likely than us taking on two lads of the same name of the same age who are related. Even the Neville family gave the brothers different names
  12. I am pretty sure that the length of contract will be the problem. At his age he will be looking at the security of a couple of years rather than the opne offered.
  13. I know nowt. Haven't been near Tescos all week and know nobody. I know if we sign anybody for 30 days it makes most sense to leave it until the last minute and then they can stay longer. To me there seems little point in signing a goalie on loan for one game, particularly when Windass has shown how easy it is to play in goal.
  14. Anybody signing on loan for a month will always sign the day before a game and be available for his new club for longer. It doesn't mean that they haven't trained with their new team mates all week. Patience dear boy
  15. Neither were penalties, but were CONSISTENT with the very soft one we got last week and one just as soft against Hereford. Just put yesterday down to the Ferguson streak.
  16. Not sure we need a new left wing at the moment. Anybody moving Tayls at the moment is off their heads. Jones doing fine at the back and over lapped outside rather than coming inside tonight. Other areas of defence worry me foar more at the moment. Goalie and RB poor tonight.
  17. Our number ten is out on loan for something worse than not marking at throw ins. I am extremely disillusioned with Shez tonight, and have been at other points over the last couple of years. Not time to review it just yet. If we do change, I would never set foot in BP if that tit took over. Cheltenham played a team in their own League and hoofed the ball to the corner flag for 65 mins. Suggest they need to pick up a couple of League points rather than celebrating like cup winners over a first round away win.
  18. Or distracted by Martin Allens howling on the touchline. What an absolute helmet he is. I cant imagine watching his teams playing every other week.
  19. Smalley came off first half for Wolfy. Stam and everybody else looked surprised when his number came up, three minutes after we had 15 mins to get ourselves organised.
  20. Clearly the right move (could have taken off Maher/Allott/Stam/Gregan) , but why not done at half time? Listen lads I know its not working but lets give it three more minutes. Either that or was Lidds on the bog?
  21. Tayls is good enough at this level to be given licence to roam left right and centre to create for us. I wish Jones would overlap outside him. Tayls loves to cut inside and Jones always wants to run into that space. Far more concerned about the squarer pegs in rounder holes. Maher, Allott and Gregan in the same midfield. A patently unfit Smalley on the field at all. The lad is gash when he is fit. He anticipates nothing and seems frightened of any physical contact. Lewi playing up front alone? He is still a kid finding his way and doesn't have the physical presence. Shez made the game into a 45 minute match tonight. The team he started with was never going the threaten with Taylor on either wing.
  22. Barrow have outlasted us. Well done Mini Shez Next few weeks a massive test for big bro'
