He needs to bag a couple. Even if they go in off his arse. The same goes for all other attacking signings. As somebody has already said, patience.
-
I was optimistic, but so far its been non league level. Hopefully some team shape will emerge the players can understand. Croft again lively.
I don't have the same dread as last year.
-
Seems like we had a decent second half judging by the Latics wall. As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day.
-
It didn't say. Where's our roving reporter, BP1960, when you need him?
Yes, it's simply not cutting edge enough!
-
Idea what pen was for?
-
Captain perhaps?
-
Has captain been decided? If not I'd go Peter Clarke.
-
Don't think he was saying that to be fair. Worthy stat to be shared though.
Fair play, that's why we have democracy and freedom of speech I guess. Love a good stat also.

Bury conceded 73 goals last year....we conceded 58. Just saying
One player does not a defence make. OK they conceded loads but is that ALL down to Clarke? I'm not sure.
-
I'd rather he signed players familiar with the playing of football.
Exactly. Did Vardy have league experience or prem experience before signing for Fleetwood or Leicester? No. Let the lad's feet do the talking.

He's 6' 2".
Tall to me then...
-
Finally! The managerial jigsaw is complete! Now to build a squad. 3 in today... more by Monday? Good luck Robbo.
-
Player that looks to know where the net is. Can turn and finish in the box. Looks tall. Definite improvement on what we have.
-
Welcome Josh. Seems a consistent, solid player and that will do for me.
-
Really like the away. Home one is OK.

Bournemouth I think. As much as loved him I wanted to kill him for that penalty (all forgiven like a few weeks later). Not just for the dross effort but also that he attempted it. Not just in the context of the match but also the season as we made our usual slide down the league to what looked potential relegation.
It was indeed against Brentford. I was sitting in the box for pie and pint I lost my pint in anger when he dunked it. Followed by lots of expletives and a funny look from the bar manager.

I'll be keeper, and I take a mean penalty.
-
Wasn't Dux a decent penalty taker? Also don't remember Liam Kelly missing one.

Next week's update re manager- "OAFC are pleased to announce Jo Bloggs, the under 9s coach of Chesham United as manager. His first two signing are expected to be Benson and Hedges, a deadly strike partnership that managed 12 goals in the unibond between them last term."
-
As much as I'm not keen on Evans as a bloke, he is a decent experienced manager with plenty of contacts. Could be the brash character we need, there's far worse out there.
-
For me this would be a sad thing. I felt he put up with playing alongside some dross for most of the season. At times was our most committed player. He may have been a crap passer but his work rate will be missed.
-
Nope, we had the same pitch for something like 8-10 years didn't we, I can't remember the exact specifics.
I wasn't sure. Just sticks in my head reading the cron last few years with a pic and article about the pitch being ripped up.

The sale of Baxter
The manner of the sale of Tarkowski and everything that went with it.
Lee Johnson's departure
Board's short sightedness in managerial appointments (recent barring Shez)
The choice of beer in the Rocky road.
How we turn reasonable striker options into Diana Ross circ 1994.
Chedgate and the rep we got though it.
Carl Winchester's painfully slow development. In fact, any youth products development for a long time (barring Tarky).

Administration is all about lowest possible cost, nothing to do with best value.
So no players contracted would be far more appealing than the seedlings of a decent squad.
One place I visited was in administration, they weren't allowed to turn the lights on. Pitch black in lots of places.
But I don't think we are close to it.
A half decent ish manager will be a sign.
What bothers me from what you are saying, there are already slight signs of lowest cost. The new stand appears to be finished to the lowest possible quality for one. Also, I thought we always stripped and changed the pitch every summer, I go to glow gym and the last few weeks has been about repair not replace with someone working on it frequently. Is that a sign?

Like what I said. Cassidy couple of his arse, he's on...
