no they wudnt have brought NR in just to keep ST and get rid of NR three weeks later
you may well be right- I wasn't saying that did happen just offering a scenario in which I could imagine say Redders wanting a bit more than petrol money he might have been taking whilst helping his mate short term.
Looks more likely now they knew they hadn't got the job but................

Or could it be that the previous "bad blood" between JR and NR had re-surfaced?
ST- 'If I get the gig I want something for my mate Redders'
One or more of the board 'No chance'
ST- 'right then I'm off'
Possible? ST and Redders seem close. Close enough to give up a job for- don't know

Brave move this one when we could have just steadied the ship.
I'm in the wait and see the full story camp.
We might not be a bad place to manage now, supportive board, decent budget for the league but we are still 5th tier. League 1 in 5 years maybe.
Might not be the clubs decision say for instance Redders has got another gig lined up and ST has resigned to go with him?
Maybe we might then say 'ah but if we had offered him £x sooner he might have stayed'
Time will tell- it could be a too good to refuse offer.

A simple article on the website over the weekend or yesterday saying they were waiting for the tickets, how many we were getting and would be on sale the minute they had them wouldn’t have gone amiss.
I think that's fair comment Steve. I was just responding to the 'bunch of amateurs who don't care ' type comments from earlier. I think they are making an effort here but as you say a little bit more of the coms would have gone a long way.
Think they have been a bit caught out by Alty doing something 'special' that took a bit longer rather than the standard home club use the website which seems normal down here.
Don't imagine there are many Q4 ties where the away demand is significant.

Seems that way to me. All these ‘wonderful things going on behind the scenes’ doesn’t seem to extend to the ticket office or looking after fans who want to go to away games.
Tickets received Tuesday- on sale today to season ticket holders. Clear statement about when they go on open sale. Explanation and apologies for the delay. Extended opening hours.
Seems reasonable to me- bit tight to get one posted out if you cant get to the ground midweek though.

Don't know what they can do about it once the tickets have been purchased and collected. Even if they did I'd be demanding to see their terms and conditions for refusal.
Its on their admissions policy
The Club has the right to cancel any tickets purchased in the home areas of the stadium by fans of the visiting Club, without issuing a refund.
On this page
https://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/tickets/admissions-policy/
When purchased on line you may have had to tick a box saying you have read and agree to their conditions. Don't know I didn't try. But if you did I think that is fairly cut and dried.
If you didn't you might be able to argue that it is not an implied term of your contract but I wouldn't rate your chances of a refund or readmission.
Learn the name of a number of dale players and look a bit thick and you'd get past any cursory inspection on the way in. Celebrating the 4th Oldham goal whilst unfurling a giant banner might attract a bit more attention.

It is just the way things are down here. The home team relies on their website. Makes sense when a typical away following is 100 or so. Not worth sending tickets, returning them, transferring payment etc ..... for what will be a tiny commission.
I do think there is an opportunity for the club to do a bit more without being all billy big bollocks.
Wouldn't take a lot to reach out to clubs two months in advance to say we anticipate 1500 coming and we would like to control sales.
I imagine there would be a bit of work to do to manage distribution etc and ensure electronic tickets are in a suitable format for the host club.
We might have to accept that you wont be able to choose a specific seat but overall it might be accepted as better than this mad scamble.

Disappointing night at the office. At one point were 1 goal outside the playoffs and looking to make ground on a few above us.
Lost a bit of ground with the last two results. Now 2/12/17 points off play off/ good play offs automatics was 2/10/15.
Next couple of weeks big for Thommo. See what he can do with some time on the training ground.
Be surprised if there is new personnel before a permanent manager but maybe there is a case for a loanee?

Does this mean the head of recruitment isn't impressed with the recruitment already made...?
To some extent - probably.
You may have more insight into what was going on behind the scenes but it looks a bit like Unsworth had his targets which weren't necessarily what ST was bringing in.
-
10/12 is a great return. I'd sign up for that for the rest of the season no question.
Its a sign of the turnaround that it feels like today was a missed opportunity with Chesterfield dropping points.
We remain 2/10/15 pts off the playoffs/ the better playoffs/ automatic
Could have been 2/8/13.
Let's see what Tuesday brings
-
I am surprised we haven't any loanees in the squad.
Much as I'd prefer growing our own I think we could use a midfielder and a right back.
Doesn't need to be long term down here.

Shit show again with ticket
Isn't it just how it is done down here?
There wont be many clubs sell out their allocation, and the relative lack of dickheads means segregation isn't so big a deal.
If you were hosting say Oxford- it wouldn't be worth posting them tickets on the off chance they sold a dozen at the expense of having someone switch the lights on in the ticket office.
The clubs seem to have fairly effective websites.
Might be an argument for a call a few weeks ahead to the away host 'look guys I know you normally expect half a dozen but we are Oldham..... send us the tickets and we will sort it'

I agree we need better. Just saying he made an important contribution.
I think Thommo might get more out of him while we wait for the upgrade

I'm taking that fantastic win tonight as three points gained on Dale and Hartlepool.
that's a reasonable point of view Wardie but not quite how I see it.
I see three thresholds
- making the playoffs in pos 3-7. Today we are two points off that. On our mini run we are making ground on three of them- easily achievable. The names in those slots will change over the season.
-2/3rd which gives an advantage in the playoffs. Today we are 10 points off that. Caught up 2pts on our 3 win run. Achievable.
automatic- 15pts adrift of Chesterfield who have only lost 1 and drawn 1. Looks ambitious. They might fold/ wobble at some point but if they carry on at that rate they get 118/119 points. If we won every game from now we end on 118. So yes I want them to lose or draw a few, starting asap.

Shelton needs dropping from the squad and replaced, he's a fucking awful footballer
that the same Shelton who cleared off the line at 1-1?

Why? The less points they get, the better.
Getting ahead of myself but I'm not concerned about Dale but it would take 2 off Chesterfield. I hadn't clocked they had only dropped 5 points so far.
Not be be. Chesterfield steam on.

just need Dale to equalise and it will have been a very good night

Bit more than a third of the season gone- 16 points behind the top two- rather looks like 3rd is a good target.
But we have only made ground on two of the teams above us in the last five games.
2nd plays 3rd tonight so could be just 5 off third come 10pm
