That was a few years back...2k maximum nowadays I recon which is still good considering our home fan base

Back to the thread.... One reason for this is our bigger fan base from our Prem days who now live away from Oldham.   Many like myself go to more away games than home and this contributes hugely to our away following. My guess is even if we pulled in another 1000 home fans next season our away numbers wouldn't be influenced much.... Unless we were in the top 8 or so... 

Great thread and you can who is ruled by their hearts, and who by their heads!! Reality is we will be one of the bottom 6 clubs financially based on home support and backed by the owners so 17th is about our level. 

However maybe next season will be our time at last and with some luck along the way who knows....And as long as we beat the piemen and bastard rovers then I for one will be happy!!  

Stitch and Redders demanded the ball and look where that got us!!!!

If we could challenge up near the top for a change next season our away days could be phenomenal!!!

Good crack today. We got tickets for the home end but just went in through the away turnstiles.... No questions asked!

Sorry rigsby....11 goals in 107 pro appearances (2 in 24 for us and both in a loss against Dale) is as woeful as it gets for a striker. Unfortunately he has not scored in any games we have got a point in!! Don't disagree he offers other things but without at least 8-10 goals a season I don't see how he can justify a regular starting spot as our focal striker. Agree with davidshaw 100%.

Let's be realistic. First job is sign a good keeper. Without Ripley we'd probably be down by now. Build from the back etc etc 

Shez has never had the best record for developing youth players, he prefers experienced pro's it seems...however surely someone with that record must be worth a punt??

So what's everyone's opinion of how the bottom of the table will look come 2pm Sunday 30th? I've got a bad feeling about Bolton and think it will go down the last day of the season before we are safe.

Just got 2 tickets for this from Wimbledons web site....3 stands sold out already..just a few standing tickets left apparently.

Gonna be a huge game for us this now....quite a few on here said Swinton and Vale were gone a couple of weeks ago and all would be done and dusted by Wimbledon...get yer tickets quick as it won't be! 

Very harsh result. Well in the game until the sending off... Then defense went to sleep for 10 minutes for some reason. However the main difference today was in the final third. We didn't know what to do when we got into good  positions and Southend did. Could and should have had double the attempts on goal that we did. Fuck knows why we don't shoot more often. We need 3points from the next 2 games to give us a chance I think. KTF. 

Rygas stand is down the side of the pitch and split between home and away fans. Just go to Wimbledon website and buy for the home side of the stand... Tickets on sale now £17. Wil be a sell out soon I recon as all seats sold out already. Be nice if we took over the whole stand!! 

Need something at Southend I think on Saturday to keep that points buffer.. Vale at home to Wimbledon, MK home to Gillingham, Bury at Oxford tonight. Still think we need 51 points this season. Bottom 8 all picking up points regularly except Gills and Chesterfield.

Lowest in a league 1 46 game season is Orient with 30 goals in 94/95( finished bottom with 26 points) followed by Stockport in 04/05 with 35 goals (and 25points also finished bottom) 

We should beat Orients 30 but not sure about Stockport making it more remarkable if we stay up!! 

The more I think about this stat the more amazed I am we are not down already... It's so bad. FFS if only we could put the ball in the net things would be so different! Thank God for Connor Ripley! 

Vales next four games against Coventry, Mk Dons, Wimbledon and Chesterfield... After today ours Sheff Utd, Southend, Fleetwood and Bolton... Wouldn't be surprised if they are above us after this. Gonna go to the wire IMO

Time will tell I guess...lets hope we manage to find 7 points in the next 7 games. Don't fancy having to go to Wimbledon on the last day and get something.... It's got Poleon written all over it!

Some valid arguments about other teams having poor form and not getting much from here on in. However being a Latics fan for more than 40 years I've learned to rely on nobody but ourselves. BTW only 1 year in the last 10 has below 50 points stayed up so I suggest 7 or 8 points WILL be required...

Great 3 points last night. Sounded like a big performance improvement from Bury. Oxford are a good side. Not a regular poster on here but not sure where we will pick up enough points to keep our status in league 1 without relying on Vale to get less than 51 points? Top 3 and Dale at home and some tough away games...

Maybe Posh 1, Dale 3, Fleetwood 1, then off to Don's needing a win to stay ☝
