  1. I'd be looking at Hasselbank. Did a cracking job at this level. Only problem is that he was at a relatively stable club, not this :censored:show, plus he's a big name and would be more likely to leave quickly

Edinburgh was hated by Gillingham fans by the end.

    Cotterell?

Hasselbaink who turned down Coventry? Yeah, he'd come here.

  2. Ah well, they've done their best to spoil my (and many other Latics' fans) NYE celebrations; but I`m not going to let them - booked me and the missus into a nice hotel in Blackpool and we're going to enjoy the night.

I`m not going to get too emotive but Robbo's position is now surely untenable?. Once again, we looked shattered as a team towards the end of the game (as we did at Sheffield) - why do we appear so unfit? Why did Green start the game? How come "one of the best finishers I have ever worked with" (Robbo on Mckay) drew another blank? - as he has done in every other single league game he has played in this season.

I realise we have many problems at Latics but anyone continuing to support the manager can't have actually been watching us regularly this season. If people do continue to support this manager and he holds on to his position, my view is that we will be relegated for certain. He doesn't know how to motivate his players or create an attacking mentality. Fleetwood were there for the taking - very, very poor side indeed on the day - and yet we could do nothing about it.

You lost me at nice hotel in Blackpool. Only joking fella have a good night.

Shez must be virtually out at Notts with them 3rd bottom.

  3. £20k for winning the tie and no overheads as it's a guaranteed away fixture, we'd may also be in line for a slither of gate receipts, it's hardly life changing amounts but for winning one game it would take care of around one percent of our running costs for the year with a decent opportunity to earn at least double even in the next round. We shouldn't be picking and choosing when to win it just creates a negative mindset which gives players an excuse before they start.

No overheads? The players are walking there then I take it.

  4. Even tho I know we won't it would be great to get a non league tie. A chance to be televised and don't we have a decent record against non league ? I know we struggled a bit with Burton but when was the last time we lost to non league opposition ? And who can you remember us coming up against in semi recent years ?

Last defeat was Scarborough early 70's I think.

  5. 12 games yet he'll still be able to play against us in the return.

That's a rule change that could be brought in for reds - you also miss the next match against the same opposition in addition to what the requisite ban has you miss otherwise.

Several of our rivals could actually benefit from his absence..

I suspect he might miss the return with a mystery ailment. If not he might be missing the next 12 months ;)
