I hear this excuse a lot and whilst it has a lot of truth it doesn't recognise something. Skills such as good passing and finishing I expect from pro footballers playing in the third best of 1,000/10,000 leagues in the country. I see countless 'killer balls' and stunning finishes playing 6's with my mates. What makes them third division is things like intelligence, physical attributes, coping with pressure, pace of the game. When a latics player has the ball under control at his feet, and is under little or no pressure, I expect simple passes/crosses/shots to be of the same quality that Gazza would produce. I manage it......

We have a town full of clowns.... It will not get any better. Sometimes I wonder it the club deserves TTA.

Superstar label by who? People can see he is a good player. He creates space and opportunities for others. As I have said and others have commented on, maybe he isn't destined to be a striker.

 

Sheridan had to tell O'Grady after Brighton that he needs to shoot more. A striker being told to shoot more...

 

Calling him how? What have I said is wrong with him other than his ability does not match Lewi's? That's not to say he's a bad player is it. We've a few who lack the awareness Lewis has who play much more often than him and COG.

The fans who are all bleeting what a world beater he is, I havent seen it? -SORRY! He is a very good player, who I feel needs to shoot more. O'grady was MOM V. brighton (And Shez had to pick a negative) - Enough said, that gives the O'grady beaters license to kill........ Shez should look to call some of the more senior squad players IMO

To assimilate home performances to the level/type of support is utter bull.

I had a bloke behind me on Sat who didnt say one good thing all match...... Then followed it up by saying I WONT BE BACK!! which means he never comes to BP...... That is what TTA are up against, and that is why we will loose our best players.

Explain the difference then!!!! It is one fo the most commonly used analagies on this board. Our away form is very good .... Home is not so good ... did either end manage to complete a song ? we were vocal with the boo's and player abuse but offered nothing by way of support

Well, I have only missed the Southend game this season, and we play with a better tempo away - FACT!!!!!

Maybe because we do score goals with him in the side. He's a clever player, good in possession, mature beyond his years. Maybe he is not a striker though. Ability wise he wins hands down. I'd say this is the highest level COG will achieve though. I believe Lewi could go much further than League One.

I would like to see the stats on that? I dont understand how people can call a player who has NOT had a chance?

when we signed him, vale fan at work said to me 'very good player, sometimes goes missing' - perfect description methinks - defo did yesterday but defo good enuff most of the time!

I don't expect Premiership class, I don't expect 6-0 every week or to steamroller over opponents, I do not think we have a right to beat teams - but I do expect them to perform. I always say; I might not have the best job in the world, but I'm going to be the best at it. Well, Latics aren't the best team in the world, we are not the best in England, we don't have the best players - but they have the potential to be the best at this level.

 

Saturday, second half in particular - we were second best, and not for the first time at home this season either.

It is simple - and if Shez cant see the problem he should go post his application to Elland Road NOW!!!

* All substitutions are LIKE LIKE (EVERY GAME)

* When a team sits deep (WE ARE TERRIBLE)

* When we play a side near the top (WE FIND SPACE)

We dont really have a playmaker (Whittaker has been a V.good signing) but we rely on him too much.

I am pretty happy TBH with the season so far.... but if we miss out on the play offs by 2/3 points - you will look at BRIGHTON and ORIENT games with your head in your hands!!! TRYING TO KEEP THE FAITH IN MR SHEZ!!! but difficult?

Lewis has not ripped up any trees (I LIKE HIM, BEFORE YOU HAVE A POP) but not sure where this superstar status has come from. He had a cracking game V. Scunny, then had the chance to step up to the plate in the next 3 games - NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!!!! Ogrady hasnt even had a run of games under Shez to prove himself. At Tranmere/Colchester away he was different class from the bench, and his performance V Brighton was good....... Then ala Shez he gets dropped????????

Because many of our fans are morons to be honest. Some people at our club think because Alessandra, Smalley and Wolfenden all came from our roots, they should start!!! And any other decent player shouldnt keep them out. THey call O'grady, but the fact is, he is better than all 3, but they wont have it...... I am sure we have more clowns than most clubs!

i seriously doubt anybody at our club is on 10k a week(if thats what you meant) think highest earner is around the 5 k mark.

 

maher was injured when he came and not fit,as too was lee.who since joining has had a mare with injurys one after the other,but hopefully should be fit or near abouts,cant understand why he isnt out on loan to get fitness though,same with stevens,he has looked decent from what i have seen so should be knocking on the door of the first team,but isnt.

 

fleming will only get his chance if norm is knackered,or his back goes...think this will be norms last as a player so next season flemming gets his chance,the thing with him was a few clubs were sniffing round and we got in first and tied him to a contract...

 

the trouble with other clubs,ie leeds leicster is that they have far superior gates and attendancies so there for they can afford to offer more wages and incentives...

 

we have 3.5k hard core and a further 1k floaters...hardly going to pay for that "right" player is it.

We were too high up the pitch, Crossley should have come out of his home (the 6 yard box) and put Murray under a bit more pressure, but it was a good finish non the less. Things are ok at the moment..... But if we want pace at the back, Stam it not the answer, so Gregan stays for me - for once domething I agree with Shez anout this season.

I agree some of his signings have been baffling considering he doesnt seem to play them very often. However, I dont believe he is trying to come up with excuses for failure. The other clubs who can shell out more money on wages can attract better players hence why they are more likely to go up. I cant see how Shez has failed at all with 2 top half finishes with the players we have had available. We do not have as good a squad as many make out, half of it is our own youth players. You say that he has been given enough backing to get us up over the last 3 years but I am pretty positive every year of his management there have been at least 2 or more teams able to attract a higher calibre of player than we can.

This isnt a pop at Shez, just think budget shouldnt be mentioned when we have a bench of blayers he never uses. For example Maher and Lee (Prob mustered 6 games) wouldnt it have been better to get one midfielder who gives us a few more options? The situation with Lee is odd to say the least..... I have seen him play a couple of times, and he looks a good little energetic player. Something we lacked against Brighton????

Just because some clubs in this league pay stupid salaries to some players doesnt mean he can start paving excuses for failure.

Maher - Hardly featured (Think he looks ok, but whittaker/Allot are first choice) - HE WONT BE CHEAP!

Thompson - Shipped out? (Dont think he will be back)

Lee - Hasnt featured (Whats the script with him, If what I hear is true we wont see him much) IMO a good player
