Get them earning their money then and keep them fit, as was said earlier we need to get that B team up and running again and get some games in to them.

Ultimately the club can't do much about it which is probably more a reflection on them than their employer. Half of them will be stacking shelves in Aldi in 18 months so I suppose they'll milk it for what they can and pretend to be footballers whilst it lasts.

Can't see Nuttall lasting two minutes at Aldi, their staff have to work hard for their money.

The thing that really annoys me is the time taken over throw ins, goal kicks and corners.

Hudson was warned a couple of times on Saturday yet still moved the ball whilst taking a goal kick prompting the inevitable pointless booking and six minutes added on.

The lackadaisical body language of our players who saunter around the pitch when the ball is out of play must influence the refs when deciding the amount of time added on, and as such is counter productive.

It also subdues the crowd to some extent when they see players strolling about showing a lack of urgency.

Just look as if you're on the front foot and we may not be playing after five on a Saturday afternoon.

Isn't all that just part of "seeing the game out" though and what all good teams do ?

  3. To my mind the whole problem has been caused by media/tv and twats like Lineker, Shearer and Wright. They spotlight the mistakes/alleged mistakes made by officials over and over again and demand that every decision should be 100% correct. Times were when refs and linesmen made on the spot decisions and they were accepted by players. Some you won, some you lost. Decisions were not picked over by "has beens" who wanted to cause controversy.

So true.  The degree of over analysis is staggering at times

It is. I can remember seeing Don Howe on TV decades ago, remember him ?

He was explaining how they were splitting the game up into fifteen minute periods. He went on to explain there were three periods in the first half and three periods in the second half. This was absolutely mind boggling stuff, he was deadly serious.
