Or in an advert for Tudor crisps. I don't know if it was because I was younger, but footballers then looked older than those today. Bobby Charlton looked forty in his twenties.
I think Bobby Charlton looked forty the day he was born, along with his brother Jack.

Gateshead 2-1 to the good at the moment and now above Latics.
Can see them being in the mix next season.Stonking win for them tonight, great time to be a Gateshead supporter. Bit of a "pinch me" end of season flourish. Really chuffed for them. Wish we could have a bit of that.

I remember painting the hair of one of the player's in my Latics Subbuteo team for realism and having a worn down haired one in my Striker game that I referred to as Ralph Coates
I always thought Ralph Coates would have looked more at home sat in a BBC sit-com with a pint in hand and a bag of crisps.

Be interesting to see how the current form team Gateshead go on at Eastleigh tonight. I'm expecting them to win and go above us, they deserve to but as we know, it's a funny old game.

Has he gone yet?
Yeah, he's gone to the chippy for a pudding on a muffin with large chips, gravy and a meat pie.

Jim Beardall was the finest striker we ever had. Pacy, agile, good in the air and should have played for England.

Watching Lewis Alessandria and Darius Osei playing for South Shields at Whitby
I always get a yearning for fish, chips, peas, bread & butter and a pot of tea whenever anybody mentions Whitby.

Must of been tough for them competing with Luton with the 100 million in parachute payments
Yeah, what do we get, ten bob ?

Were clubs like us attractive then? Nowhere near the money in it that there is now. Nobody saw that coming
No there was nowhere near the money. I think the amount of money has spoiled football, for me at least.
It's just a thought I had at the time. We were a very popular club, always on TV and in the news.

When we got promotion to Div1 and then become founder members of the Prem, I would have liked the owners to have sold the club
to someone with big money. Maybe then we could have a few more years of the good life. I would imagine that the club would have
been quite saleable at that time.

Tbf at the start of the season he was playing well until that incident.
And I think he actually scored a goal if i'm not mistaken.
Not saying he should be kept though.

Just checked back and to be fair to you, you did say ‘dunno, when asked if he was coming in
You also said:
’If he does sign and is good, then it will be an Unsworth signing. If he signs and is poor, then it will be a signing made by the club.’ which probably added to my misinterpretation…
btw You DID say that Willoughby will sign in the summer, so, if that doesn’t happen, I’ll be back on your case then!
Haaland will walk out on City and come to us in the summer. Will you be on my case too if that doesn't 'appen ?

Yep in very short order.
You can't be a professional football team AND expect the players to take the risk on themselves. Its an absolute nonsense this.
Not arguing either way here but aren't the players insured ? What does that cover ? Could wages be covered ? I'm sure the league would have looked into this. (well you would hope they have)

Deflected cross to be fair but he did have a volley from outside the area cleared off the line.
Maybe he just needed a bit of sea air. Good luck to him.

1 in 20 strike rate!
I'm sure Dave has a plan to turn that into a 1 in 2, just don't hold your breath.

The one point deduction is for one point gained for a drawn game. They could have been deducted more points but weren't.

Albert Quixall was earlier. I believe it was Denis Stevens and Ken Knighton
Wasn't Keith Bebington around at the same time ? I'm sure he was in the same team as Reggie.

Not sure about this... spent a lot of his career with Everton who for most of the time he was there were languishing in the bottom-half of the division. I'd have thought that hard work, exploiting home advantage and squeezing as much out of fairly limited players (at that level) would be right up his street...
Yeah but it's this non-contact football that's killing us. OK in the kids game but not the mens.

I would suggest about 95% want Unsworth out now…About time we had a poll?
How about a whip round towards his payoff ?

Harold Shipman didn't kill ALL his patients. Still a shit doctor
I would say he was probably a very good doctor in terms of his medical abilities. He was just a psychotic murdering bastard. Just saying and being pedantic like.

Remember Reggie playing for us. He would run up and down the right wing all afternoon. I've seen him take the ball right upto the opponents penalty area, bring it almost back to ours and then take it back again before getting a cross in. Quite a player.

the fact all his crosses end up in the stand says a lot about our other crossershe should never step foot on a football pitch again
Well thanks for leaving us all in no doubt about Stobbs. Be par for the course though if he popped up at Rochdale next season (for instance) and scored a hat trick against us.

Or a Jack Stobbs!
Shame about Stobbs. Shez obviously thought there was a player there as he kept picking him and also bringing him on as sub.
