  1. the linesman gave it-not the ref...the flag was across his chest asap.

i disagree, i agree with Palmer1's version of events. the lino had a better view of the incident and he signaled a free kick (personally i dont know if it was a foul, but it was definatly outside the box). as soon as he spoke to the ref, he changed his mind. It wasnt the ref's fault. He had to decide every decision the lino should be making, and could not rely on the lino nr the mainstand. The worst lino ever at BP, personally dont believe the ref had a bad game, although the way Bertrand got booked gave me raised eyebrows.

  2. the idea would work brilliantly...more us and dale.

but its all about position of ground and the backing of the fans.

if the ground say was on the rochdale/royton border,a very tidy 15-20 thousand ground with lesuire facilities to the hilt, both club would benifit .....

I would be well and truelly against any development like this. we are Oldham Athletic who play at Boundary Park in Oldham, And if not Boundary Park, we should still be based in Oldham. no matter where we are based, our club should independantly own all its own facilities, and play at a unique venue to anyone else. The Pitch would cut up no end, what with the roughyeds as well.

granted ground sharing would mean half the cost of running the site, but it would also mean half the profit from the hotel, gym etc. it simply would be catastophic in my eyes ad should never be considered. It is nigh on halfway towards Manchester North end.

quite simply, its a no from me.

  3. Well why didnt you let the club know then you muppet?

They put it in the programme last week saying if you were interested then let the club know and you could do it, but i got roped into it........

Not like im complaining or anything, at least i will actually get to see the game for once ^_^

lol i never by the programmes. and this is the first ive heard of it, but i would have defo had it. if you need a last minute stand in ill have a bit of that B)

  4. I've said it before and I'll say it again, sure we may not have the numbers within the targetted wards that can cast a vote, but we all can canvass in that ward. We can saturate an area far more than the councillors can. There is always more ways than one to skin a cat. What about the voter who agrees with us but can't be hassled to get to the box by foot or bus? easy you tell them you'll collect and ferry them down there!

my precise thoughts exactly lags. if we were to migrate to a particular ward for the day too-ing and frowing form the polling station, canvassing each and every household, we would outnumber the opposition 10-1 easily.

  5. i think all the so-called councillers will be walking the plank when the next local elections come around :hanged::thumbsdown:

the problem is tho, say we do oust all the hopeless councillors come re alections, we will prob be replacing like for like. we really need to get some mere mortals elected, and even if we do get the right decision on 11th, i would seriously consider standing candidates in the next locals. we certainly have the numbers on here to make a difference, and with the right campaign goals anything is possible

  6. Stupid and oblivious bee-hatch

Point 1) Er.... are you deaf?

Point 2) People outside of the town talk about Tommyfield Market and don't talk about the football club? Lying cow!

    Any response sent, Phill?

no, at the moment im in complete shock at that reply. she has obviously been walking around with her eyes shut in recent years. nobody in the town gives a damn about tommyfield, so why would anybody outside?

  7. In my letter supporting the regeneration, i quoted jeff at the march

"when you go on holiday you talk about oldham in two lights, race riots and Oldham athletic"

not exactly those words, but thats the shortened version.

anyhow, ive just received a reply from Eileen Hulme, and quite fronkly, she seems like she is being well off.

have a read and see what you think. its below

Thank you for your E mail. As OAFC will soon be back before the planning committee I will not compromise the issue by commenting at this point in time. However I will comment on two other points

1 It is a long time since I heard any one refer to the “race riots”

2 When talking about Oldham few people mention Oldham Athletic. Many do refer to the sad demise of Tommy Field Market.

I find it very sad that people keep referring back to the race riots. Most of us in Oldham have thankfully moved on from those sad days

    Regards

    Eileen Hulme
