  1. this seems to have gone a bit flat, we need one big push before the 11th. would a hand written petition, with names gathered outside Boundary park at the Crewe, Luton and Doncaster games add to the petition? or would it be taken as two seperate petitions? with three games before now and the meeting, we have a great opportunity to add at least another 100 signitures to it, when you consider the amount of people who do not have internet access, do not use the message boards etc, and you also have to think of away fans who will gladly sign for us. I think its worth doing, might be a bit short notice to organise it for tommoro, but certainly the luton and doncaster games could get done.

    Anyone agree?

would need volunteers to stand outside BP, walk round the pubs befroe the game etc, surely it could be done?

bumped to gauge peoples opinion on the above

  2. Name? Andrew Higgins

    Location? Hertford, Herts

How Long Supporting the Tics? 32 years

Best away match you've been to? Southampton away 1990 littlewood cup (sheer thrill of ritchie's equaliser)

All Time Greatest Player? Roger Palmer

Biggest Rivals (in your eyes)? Current, Tranmere

wrong answer, validation remains unauthorised :D

  3. I dont care what anybody says, Trotman is the best Centre Half we have at the club. Him and Stam should easily be the first choice partnership. Stam seems to have overcome his injury problems of the last couple of years (im touching wood) and Trotman, although only young is playing with a maturity way beyond his years.

I agree however it will be good to have Gregan back, as well as Hazell to provide cover (wether They will be happy playing a back up role i dont know) but with a fully fit squad the best back line is undoubtedly Eardley, Stam, Del Boy and Bertrand.

  5. We did well didn't we.

    Ole!

Two great goals from us too. Second you could say fortunate but still needed anticipation and finish. Lovely goal from NK. How many crosses and shots did they sky?! Very strange.

League's best passing side my :shakeit:

a quehose who went, how much do you think Hughes would have effected the scoreline,

  6. giving Davies a break. its about bloody time. Davies has ccarried this team through some tough times this season, and its about time the midfield started to chip in with some goals. things are looking up though. the defence seems sound enough (depending on Del boys injury), midfield is looking much better, and as i say getting on the score sheet. and Hopefully Hughes' injury isnt too bad and him and Davies can form THE formidable partnership we all know can be.

Playoffs out of the question? dont count on it just yet.

  7. Im not worried in the slightest about latics resubmitting the same report, only with a proffessional view on it by an independant body. its near as dam it a third report anyway. if the councillors refuse two traffic reports, both backed up by a proffessional independant body they want shooting (granted, many would say they wanted shooting a couple of weeks ago).

im full of confidence for the 11th, we can do this.

  8. Philliggi I completely agree with what you have said. What's best is for both strategies to come together. I still maintain there should be a continous large presence of simple 'pro-stadium' propaganda...be it posters/car stickers in the town. Of course, this has to come as part of a two-pronged attack, and we need to campaign and protest in a way which is seen by the residents and the Council as progressive rather than just whinging and complaining.

I'm not suggesting that we should simply do a poster/car ticker campaign. I just think that a physical presence, as such, that will keep the redevelopment campaign in the public consciousness is vital if we are to succeed.

yeah i think we sort of agree, we are just saying it different ways.

  9. You have got me wrong. when i said we have had enough publicity as it stands, i meant we have all heard what has happened, there is no point publicising that any longer. what we should be publicising is what the development will bring to the town as a whole, and why none Oldham Athletic supporters should be right behind us. When those who have been to the meeting get back tonight, im sure we will have a clearer idea on this.

By flooding the public with the same message continuously you will get the same reaction as the McCanns have found in the Maddie case. Although a very worthwhile cause, by keeping the same message on the front of the papers people have turned against them and sympathy fatigue set in. People will only stay behind us if we are continuously proactive and working towards something thehy want.

We cant rush this. but we shall persevere and we shall win

  10. Yep you are correct, the best way.

i personally think there has been enough publicity on the current situation as it stands. if we are to do a poster campaign, we need to decide on a way forward, and let people know what they can do to help the situation.

for example, use the posters to advertise our candidate standing at local elections, i dont see the point in putting out a poster simply to badmouth the council.

  11. I know there are many factors, to me we need root and branch reform.

    Technically rubbish.

Too many foreign players in England.

4-5-1 ahould have worked, the fact it didn't says more about the players. Though the choice of keeper was a poor one, from a barren dessert.

Why can English players only cope with 4-4-2, anything other than that seems beyond them.

flexable teams win championships. thats why we havent won anything since 66.

we only know how to play 4-4-2 and until we start coaching kids different styles at grass roots, we will always be the same

we dont even know how to defend a lead (or in this case the required draw)

  12. Croatia found it easy to bag three on it though! The the FA were more than willing to take the cash from the NFL game too. They knew the effects it could have on the pitch.

Dont get me wrong, im not blaming the pitch, far from it, but for the National stadium to have a pitch like that is shocking. Ive payed on better sunday league pitches

  13. absolutely gutted but we didn't deserve it on tonight's performance. However, there is always a silver lining, no more maclaren hopefully!

We didnt deserve it on any appearance since Mclaren took charge. we have been absolutely shocking. two nil down in 15 mins is not good enough. Crouch was the only player on ( a diabolical) Wembley tonight who deserved to wear the shirt. Mclaren out, Rednapp in, Lamps and Gerrard cant start together. get Hargreaves in there. play passing football, not the big boot stuff we saw tonight, and for god sake, close down your man!!!

just another point, i dont think Mclaren will be the only man in the job centre tommoro, the Wembley groundsman could well be as well
