Gregan denies drink driving

Recommended Posts

Sounds to me like some someone needs a nice calming cigarette...

Maybe so, but instead I'll have to try going to Tokyo Project to partake in their 'All You Can Drink For £6' promotion and 'socialise' with some idiots. After all, I wouldn't want to break the law now would I.....

So long as you don't have more than two pints, that would be Irresponsible Binge Drinking.

In the same manner, does someone who goes slightly over the drink drive limit deserve 10 years or even the same punishment of someone who can’t stand up?

Makes little difference... The limit is their for a reason.. After that amount your ability to drive is not what it needs to be...

Don't drink and drive... Simple isn't it...

Any more Mr Point scorer :)

I have little sympathy with those who drink and drive.

Drink in relatively small amounts affects your judgement which, if you get behind the wheel, endangers the lives of others.

I have driven whilst under the influence (in my late teens). I realised how bloody stupid it was when, as I headed down the A34 dual carriageway in Didsbury lots of headlights were coming straight at me.

There is little excuse for it, and while proposing 10 year sentences for those convicted is draconian, I think there is more than a strong case for going significantly beyond the driving ban and fine that offenders usually get.

So for the police to have taken him to court there will be a breath test on record taken at the nick which proves he was over the limit....

or

He refused the breath test and he is in the :censored: regardless....

Just confused how the hell he is going to get away with pleading not guilty... Unless of course he didn't give a sample and is hoping to take the 12 months, 5k fine etc...

As far as I am concerned if he did drink and drive hope he gets ten years.... I have little tolerance on the subject...

Yeah, nice trip. Fishing for an argument with a crass post. Don't bother asking me to explain why it's crass, I'm sure you can work it out.

See how you feel if its your kid someone just over the limit hits...

1-22

I'm realistic enough to think that if somebody was JUST over the limit when they hit someone then they would probably have hit them anyway. The threshold is that low that there will be many people more capable to drive whilst over the limit than others driving sober.

But yeah, if it was my kid I'd probably feel biased emotions. As it is I can remain objective, touch wood.

2-22?

Should pedestrians have a drink limit to walk by the side of main roads? If they were to stumble into the road an innocent driver may swerve and end up killing themselves? Even worse it could be your beloved bus, but then they are all empty I suppose. Interesting thought......
