boboafc
Portsmouth have confirmed the departure of manager Tony Adams "with immediate effect". The struggling Barclays Premier League club lost 3-2 to Liverpool on Saturday after conceding two late goals, and the Fratton Park board have opted to remove Adams and first-team coach John Metgod. Ackey
hahahaha fools should never have given him the job. He's beyond useless.
jsslatic
Always annoyed me how people went on as if it was his first job in football, conveniently forgetting the fact that he relegated Wycombe (well, finished the job). Interestingly, in the montage last night of his managerial career on SSN, the goal they picked out to show difficulties at Wycombe was Muzza's second in the 5-2 thrashing at Adams Park. EDIT: Although IIRC that game was quite early in the season, so Sanchez would have still been in charge. Top journalism! I do think he's been unlucky though, whether it's his first job or not, managing in the prem is alot different to managing Wycombe. He seems to have got them playing well enough to be picking up points but the complacency of some of his players has let him down. They are the ones who should be taking a look at themselves and have their heads on the block, not Adams. The decision was taken a little hastely in my opinion. Agree the situation is different...but that argument works well in a Paul Ince sort of argument, where the manager's done well low down but struggled in the Prem...but the guy was a complete flop in L1...you don't see Prem clubs snooping around Paul Merson or Carlton Palmer... Haha everyone wants Carlton Palmer, nobody can meet his wage demands though. I see what you're saying with Paul Ince but I think he had a more favourable situation to Adams who was thrown in with no preperation time for the season and little money to spend. I just think he got a really bad deal all round.
