  1. Seen the goals, thought Dummigan was massively at fault on both the 3rd and 4th. 3rd goal his positioning is poor and he is caught flat footed by the pass, the ball should never have been able to make it to his man in such a way. He neither covered the space behind or got tight enough to make the pass difficult. 4th goal we got a bit of luck with the crossbar, if Dummigan threw himself at that bouncing ball and got his head on it the lead would have been preserved - waiting for the ball to come down so you can volley it away with it on the goal line is diabolical really. Disappointing goals to concede and completely avoidable but a good point nonetheless. Genuinely didn't feel there was a huge amount Placide could have done about any of them other than being a little wrong footed by the first as he ran back across goal.
  2. You turn up to gloat every time anything negative is happening at the club. You wonder why other posters aren't that keen on you. Right.
  3. All the strengths of Lord Ndiwa Kangana with none of the weaknesses!
  4. This is exactly my point, the introduction of rules such as 'being out of control' has sanitised the game and kills excitement. I blame the watered pitch personally, on a dry pitch he wouldn't have slid nearly as far and maintained 'control'. When AI is good enough, maybe we'll replace human players with robots with entertainment set to 0.
  5. Given my description, whether it was even a free kick is up for debate.
  6. I think a big problem is the rules change every season. Not to defend what is quite frankly awful refereeing but the game as it is now is not the game I grew up with 20 years ago - can't imagine what it's like to older fans. FIFA and the governing bodies are ripping the soul out of the game whether that be because of commercial pressure (read 'greedy fuckers filling their pockets') to protect players from injury or just genuine incompetence they are a cancer on the sport. That sending off - if you pause it as Doyle goes past the lad; 1. The ball is there to be won 2. Doyle's leading foot never leaves the floor 3. Doyle's leading foot makes no contact at all with the man 4. It's debatable whether even Doyle's trailing foot (also grounded, studs pointing away) make any contact with the man 5. The above leaves a grown man rolling about on the floor holding his shin despite wearing shin guards and not being hit on his shin. If sending Doyle off for this is the correct application of the laws of the game, the game is absurd.
  7. 3 points though, cheer up you miserable cunt, always about you, "I've lost my house", "winters coming", change the record.
  8. How is it even possible for a professional football team to concede two goals in two minutes? You have the ball back after the first goal...
  9. I would argue the vast majority of the people using it wouldn't have gone to the game anyway due to travel distances so are at least giving the club something by way of the subscription fee. I highly doubt it will stop these fans attending the odd game they would have anyway, there is no substitute for the real thing as I'm sure you agree.
  10. I know a lot of people are complaining about budget but I'm not sure it's actually that small (although still one of the smaller in the league no doubt). The bigger problem is it's been wasted. Banks is a complete waste of a wage in this division, Craig Davies for all his effort is also a waste, he is over the hill and does nothing Holloway can't - he isn't a player with a great football brain and now his physical attributes are on the wane he has little to offer. Our core first 11 is actually an ok team and should be comfortably mid table: Wilson(?) Hunt Clarke Gerrard Wilson Gyamfi Gardner Green McG Holloway Duffus I would like to see us get another striker in, someone intelligent on the ball but we don't have the budget as it's been wasted on Davies. I'd like to see another midfielder in with a bit of tenacity but it's been wasted on Banks. Flynn is also a big chunk of wage gone on a player that is very injury prone and very inconsistent. He is a decent player but not sure he is right for our situation - a 'luxury' we can't afford.Obviously he was brought in pre-Shez but I would have been going all out to move him on to free up budget. I don't have the same issues others have with Fane. We have some good youngsters who supplement the squad and are worth some game time, Fawns, Stott, Edmundson, Osei. It's a shame the budget has been wasted by a combination of Shez, Corney and Robinson.
  11. I thought Hunt was awful and responsible for a lot of our 1st half problems. His lack of positional sense and ball chasing allowed Wigan to cut through our midfield time and again which was the source of all their threat. I thought he showed real naivety and lack of intelligence, he is not a central midfielder. Banks powder puff but one of the few players with any quality. Gardner did well, thought the Belgian lad had a decent debut also. The biggest worry for me is the terrible decision making in possession and lack of urgency about our play. Defence a worry also, Clarke uncharacteristically shaky but it's in possession where we look clueless for the most part. Fawns did ok when he came on.
  12. I don't think the sausage factory workers are able to dictate terms to quite the same extent and have contracts with far less favourable redundancy packages... at a guess. Maybe not, you seem to know both industries inside out and have noted that there are no differences whatsoever. Interesting.
  13. This is football ffs, it is nothing like a normal job and a lot of the little fairies playing it have the most ridiculous sense of entitlement to absurd levels of pay to the point where it cripples the clubs they play for and forces up ticket prices hitting the average man pretty hard in the process. They are human beings, but they are human beings with it seems particularly low levels of insight or empathy to the wider public. "Yeah but it's a short career and I couldn't possibly get of my arse after I turn 35, therefore I have to rinse you all now"
