TrikkiNikki
Where is he? Has he gone back? If not, why put Liddell on in place of Taylor? Surely Jones would be better with Smalley on the opposite flank and Golbourne at Left Back. Why play a 19 year old loanee instead of our own established player? Why persist with Kabba instead of Alessandra? Puzzled.

He is worse than Byfield, Davies,O'Grady - another wasted loanee. As for the rest of them today... Taylor - obviously not fit - should not have started Smalley - woeful - did not make a single telling contribution today Jones - a shadow of the player he was - he is simply not fit yet and Golbourne would be a far better bet Hines & Gregan - run ragged today - why oh why was Stam left on the bench? Eardley - oh dear - welsh international? You are having a giraffe. Allott tidy but often caught in possession. Maher - scored a great free kick... Budtz? I can see why he is on loan here from Hartlepool Alessandra - came on and fell over a few times Liddell - on at half time and did pretty well - gave us width and one or two dangerous crosses Hughes - chased hard - worked hard - niggled too often - scored a great team move goal poor show poor side - time for a change? TrikkiNikki
Just a point re:Alessandra. He has not been given the opportunity to form what could have been an effective partnership with Hughes. Hughes/Alessandra Old head/young head Power/pace Confident/Confidence growing Goals/Goals All we have now, is yet another young player with no confidence. Hence, he falls over. I see your point, fella, but I think it's a pretty superficial analysis. If Sheridan had persisted with Alessandra when he was out of sorts and it hadn't worked out, the kid's confidence would have been shot and Sheridan would have come in for criticism all the same. opinions4u
When Sheridan left Alessandra out against Stockport it was the right decision. He was looking tired. But he didn't need leaving out for the season. He needed refreshing. When Sheridan left Alessandra out after the Yeovil game, it was a shocking piece of management picking on exactly the wrong target, less than 2 playing hours after he'd scored a superb hat-trick. Hughes comments about changing strike partners too often hit a chord. The best partnership we had this season was Hughes/Alessandra. And the midfield was strong for having Lewis hold the ball up better than any of the other 7 strikers we've used this season (O'Grady, Davies, Kabba, Byfield, Ormerod, Smalley, Windass - have I missed any? Did Wolfy get a game?). Edited March 14, 2009 by opinions4u
