Songs and Chants

Recommended Posts

This is what we need on our web site...

They had leaflets listing the songs and lyrics for the first match.

These are the basics. This list will continue to grow and evolve along with rest of the Sounders FC traditions.

Seattle

(by Perry Como)

The bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle

And the hills the greenest green, in Seattle

Like a beautiful child, growing up, free an' wild

Full of hopes an' full of fears, full of laughter, full of tears

Full of dreams to last the years, in Seattle

. . . in Seattle!

Sounders 'Til I Die

(sung at the 74 min)

I'm Sounders 'til I die

I'm Sounders 'til I die

I know I am, I'm sure I am

I'm Sounders 'til I die

We love you Sounders

(sung at halftime & fulltime)

We love you sounders, we do

We love you sounders, we do

We love you sounders,Hey, Ho, Sounders we love you.

Us verses them

Whoa…Oh…Oh…Hey…Hey…Hey… (four times)

When it's us versus them, you can always count on me

When it's us versus them, it's a Sounders unity

(repeat)

Come on Sounders score a goal

Come on Sounders Score a Goal,

Score Goal, Score a Goal OOOOHHHOOOO (repeat three times)

I can see it now, certain members of this board handing out the hymm sheets. The polietest of youngsters will take said hymm sheet with a thank you, and not use it. The rest well they will either use the sheets as paper airplanes to chuck and each other/ the opposition or deliberately sing the wrong song at the time. Football chants are quite often spontaneous in nature and don't always work from one week to the next (case in point the great escape at huddersfield which was good but failed the week after). As to singing a particular song on 74 minutes, is this something to do with a requisit ad break in the US?
