Lboro latic Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Today was the first chance I have had to see Dean Furman, after a quiet first 15 Mins I thought he was suberb, this lad oozes class. He actually has a similar style to Frank Lampard, we have had Wellens & Killkenny but this lad looks better. His partnership with Worthington will make a very strong midfield area, far stronger than last year. I also thought that Abbott and Parker looked a decent partnership upfront. Like others who have been to the game today and other pre season matches I have real worries over Brill, Gregan & Hazell. However, If Dave Penny can sort out this area we could be in for a far better season than some are predicting. I have certanly come back from a decent game in a positve mood. Lets just see what finishing touches Dave Penny adds to the squad before we quick off and juding by the majority of his signings so far there is room for optimisom. Quote
JohnnyPimp Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Aside from the fact he can clearly play a ball, his enthusiasm and willingness to put a tackle in is very pleasing indeed. Certainly the star man of pre-season. Quote

I have been to 3 pre-season friendlies, and totally agree about Furman & Worthington. However, I have noticed that when one isnt playing, there is not the same impact. They are both very stong individually, but together is the main deal. Quote

Certainly the star man of pre-season. He is a good player and will get even better, it could be he might have a short stay at Latics if a good offer offer comes in. Quote
ste1987 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Out of the two pre-seasons I've been too, I've only seen Furman once. After a quiet opening as you said, he does seem to have alot of potential. Energetic, running around all game, wanting the ball and looking for the throughball. I've been impressed with Worthington. Puts in great tackles when needed, and provides that bit of bite for the midfield. However, we have a coup with Pawel! Quote
