singe Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I was thinking maybe we can have an OWTB campaign Maybe we could do a poll (! ) of the best moments, and then email en masse for the winner of the poll? What do you think, and suggestions for the best moment? Laague Cup 50 years Quote

What do you think, and suggestions for the best moment? Laague Cup 50 years Latics only? Ok as we're entering my 24th season watching the blues there's been a few LC highlights down the years... 2-0 down at home to Leeds in 86-87 win 3-2, then win the second leg 1-0 at Elland Road 2-0 down at Elland Road in 87-88 two late goals give us a replay, we win 4-2 AET (87-88) Denis Irwin's thunderbolt putting us in the lead at the Goodison Park, the home of the current champions (87-88) Stitch snatching a replay at Goodison the year after (88-89) A packed Boundary Park seeing us lose the replay somewhat unluckily 2-0 after dominating (88-89) 89/90 Enough said Stitch's comeback after months out and his four goals v Torquay (W7-1) 91-92 Roger Palmer vs Derby equalising within seconds of his comeback after his knee-injury W2-1 (91-92) Earl Barrett's overhead goal-line clearance at Old Trafford in the last 16 2-0 defeat (91-92) John Keeley diving out of the way at Cambridge 92-93 Darren Beckford's superb solo effort v Coventry 93/94 Nick Banger's diving header at Prenton Park to win us the tie on aggregate (96/97) 3-0 down in 7 minutes at Grimsby (97-98) Playing Crewe off the park W 3-2 first leg (98-99) The 2-0 win at the Gayfarm 2000-01, "Brucey's on the dole.." Derby and West Ham (02/03) Darren Sheridan's combination at Glanford Park (03/04) The hammering at the hands of Spurs (04/05) Quote

Luton winning the thing in 87/88 with a great performance from a young Andy Dibble Brian clough banging his own fand after their quarter-final win v QPR in Jan '89 Latics destroying Arsenal 3-1 Frank Bunn's record Winning a semi-final 6-0 Shez's winner in '91 Tony Adams dropping Steve Morrow in '93 The Villa/Tranmere 2nd leg in 93/94 great game! Villa giving United a football lesson at Wembley same year. Kanchleskis' red card same game Doncaster's run under DP York beating United 3-0 in '1995 i'm sure I'll think of more! Quote

Been done to death though mate that's why i've mainly tried to look at other LC highlights although we could fill the vote with just our memories from that season! Quote
