Use the trainline.com to identify the best priced fare - then go direct to the provider to book saving the difference. Cashback websites (Quidco etc) can be used to save more. Not to mention the fact that each operator wants you to sign up with them again, sometimes it's just worth the quid not to have to go through that hassle.
