From a footballing perspective, Swindon will be tired after extra time and have a key player suspended. It may have suited Latics. From a cost perspective, perhaps Latics weren't keen to commit to travel expenses for Swindon when there was still the chance of ice today. And if the "waterlogging" concern is genuine and the game went ahead, that could wreck the pitch for the rest of the season.
