Macca Posted April 23, 2011 Share Posted April 23, 2011 Great game at Radcliffe Borough this morning as the youth team beat Bury 2-0. It could have easily have been more in a game Oldham completely dominated. Latics Yth Vs Bury Yth Chris Sutherland did great on the right to get past the Bury defender and keep the ball in play, Kyle Riley flicked on in the six yard box and Jack Laird managed to poke the ball home. Sutherland should take a lot of the credit for not giving up on what looked a lost cause. Second goal resulted from great wing play from Ryan Burns, he twisted and turned the Bury defence leaving them bamboozled before crossing the ball into Laird who failed to hit his shot first time but was allowed so much time to fire home his second chance. Oldham looked in total control of the game, they never stopped pressing Bury all game and forced them into many mistakes. Everyone had a good game in an Oldham shirt in a very entertaining game. Tried to do too much at times and then went off minutes later with hamstring/groin trouble. Looks a decent player in the brief time he played. Failing badly with the final ball on a number of occasions and the exchange between burns and riley in the first half looked like a lot of friction between the lads not being offered pro contracts and the others.
