mikejh45
Who voted to get a pasting? Surely you'd like to walk away with your head held high!!!
JoeP
Who voted to get a pasting? Surely you'd like to walk away with your head held high!!! Depends on the circumstances. We didn't even lose at Wembley in 1994, but I think it might have been better if we'd have got pasted....

I walked away from Wembley gutted but proud, I didn't feel the same leaving Maine Rd. I never want my club to get a pasting (even as an excuse to get rid of the manager). If we’d have lost 4-1 in the first game, I reckon we would have thought it wasn’t meant to be, we would have saved ourselves another game and got on with fighting relegation without thinking what might have been. We were in pretty decent form in the run up to Wembley game, but didn’t win another league match after it. In my opinion this was down to the events at Wembley.
