Latics are the road again, following Tuesday's night exciting 3-3 draw at Preston, as they travel to Brunton Park to face Carlisle tomorrow afternoon.

The clubs have met already this season, of course, when Carlisle visited Boundary Park to win the first round League Cup tie on penalties. Both teams are in decent form and will be pleased to find themselves, at this stage of the season, sitting in the top half of the table.

There are doubts over the fitness of attacking duo Filipe Morais and top scorer Shefki Kuqi but otherwise manager Paul Dickov has no major concerns, with captain Dean Furman looking in fine shape since his injury lay off.

Carlisle, like Latics, were involved in a high-scoring midweek affair, as they recorded an impressive win over Sheffield Wednesday, edging a five-goal thriller 3-2.

On-loan striker Lee Miller is in hot goalscoring form and will pose a threat to the Latics defence and Carlisle may have captain Paul Thirlwell returning from injury.

Rumours that Latics Assistant Manager Gerry Taggart has readied his knuckle-dusters in preparation for another dust-up with Tom Taiwo are, as yet, unconfirmed.

Latics' away record: W3 D1 L4

Carlisle's home record: W3 D1 L3

Latics squad: Cisak, M'voto, Black, Wesolowski, Diamond, Clarke, Morais, Furman, Simpson, Adeyemi, Smith, Taylor, Lee, Millar, Winchester, Gerrard, Mellor, Kuqi.

Predicted starting line-up:

Cisak

Lee Clarke Diamond Mellor

Simpson Wesolowski Furman[c] Adeyemi Taylor

Kuqi

Scoreline prediction:

Carlisle 2-1 Latics

Here we go again! 3-2

3-3

What a load of crap from 3-0 up

To be fair we are fantastic in parts of matches but this team is way too young and lacking in quality/depth to make the play offs even in this pretty poor division. Sadly it's going to be another summer of mystery as to what squad we have next year and Dickov deserves credit for keeping us clear of the relegation zone
